Default '04 Varta RIP

Well today is the day.. she's been a good one.. but it's Autozone time for lunch.
Now we will see if the battery was the source of my 6 plus months of spoiler in the air with ABS/ESP problem... if it is...I think I'll miss it being up all the time.. not to mention throttle and spin at a split second whim..

Well the deed is done.. spoiler still up etc. So the ABS ESP wasn't battery related or wheel speed sensors. I had mentioned in another post she seemed to take an extra second or two to fire off here lately.. I will consider that the only clue it was going. It now hits the starter and fires right up..
And yeah Doc.. I would have loved to drop it in my Chevy pickup (year old battery in it) .. but couldn't see adding core charges - refunds and running up and down the road to accomplish.

First time my spoiler went up on a cold start, I just immediately drove to Sam's Club to replace the original Varta. I took to heart all the warnings I read on this fine forum!

And If I'd have done that.. I'd only have two years free replacement left right now...instead of three...

having had boats, rv, and other toys, I always seem to have a battery on the shelf for a core charge...but the shelf is finally getting bare...and filling up with modding parts...time to start the install as soon as some gaskets get here...

I see a pattern I like here.. fill the shelf with mod parts.. and retire to install..

If you would have done that it would have been smarter.

But I guess with oil wells pumping all over the new JR is spending like crazy.

Let me get this right.. It would have been smarter to replace it last year.. that way I could have avoided two jump starts and having to replace it in Autozones parking lot? Well at 90k miles with that logic I guess I better do the smart thing and have the engine rebuilt now..

Oh and since you've displayed an interest here.. We are still waiting for the division order papers.. But by law they have till app. oct 15 to start with payments on the royalties.. (Texas Railroad Comm. if you want to confirm). But that's all fine.. should be min. of 150K on the first check if there is no natural gas production along with the oil.. which is highly unlikely.

What a coincidence!

My battery died too. But mine's in my pacemaker and I have to go into the shop for replacement.

Or, I could wait for Obamacare to kick in fully and get the DIY at-home option!

Two jump starts and an Autozone parking lot might be a little too far.. LOL.. I'd have to change that one early myself..

I wonder if they'll let me self-administer the Dilaudid and Versed?

My car was built in 8/04. Still have the original battery, still going strong (knocks on wood). I guess if I ever notice the spoiler acting up I need to start shopping around for one.

My ABS BAS is having issues so spoiler has been up for quite a while.. As I had noted.. she seemed to take an extra second or so on the cranking side before firing off the last week or so.. Now the starter hits and she fires..
