I don't know for sure that it made the difference.. but another member was having issues getting his to reset. I had suggested disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and trying again. He reported back FSS reset worked first time after that. Mileage may vary should you try this.. LOL.

Read the owner's manual more carefully.
You can only reset the FSS on the third full moon of every odd year ........

And here you would have to wait two more years.. you forgot (autodim mirrors anyways) about "while looking over left shoulder"... fine print at the bottom..

The manual has some timing statements in it that are imisleading. If you wait the 10 seconds the book says to wait for the FSS to beep it never will. Just do the whole procedure lickity-split and it'll reset (most of the time). I think the trick is to do the entire procedure within 10 seconds max.

I could be mistaken, but I think you also have to have the door closed before the FSS reset will register.

RESETTING THE FSS MAINTENANCE INDICATOR

1) Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position

2) Within 4 seconds of moving the ignition switch into the
“RUN” position, press the reset button for the trip odometer
twice within one second.
The display for the FSS service request is activated for 10 seconds

3) During the 10 seconds the FSS service request is displayed,
move the ignition switch to the “OFF” position.
The FSS service request will continue to be displayed

4) Press the reset button for the trip odometer and hold

5) Move the ignition switch to the “RUN” position

6) Continue to press and hold the reset button for the trip
odometer (about 10 seconds) until the audible signal sounds and the new start distance appears in the display
The tool symbol should disappear at this time

So here is what I prepose to do , when the moon is in the seventh house and car aligned with mars l will cycle the doors open/closed all the while resetting 6 times under 10 sec and NOT wait for the elusive beep. That should cover it.
Seriously though I will try everything
Cheers

When doing the reset procedure, you have to turn the key all the way to the On/Run position. If you stop at the ACC position, it will not work.

Before you try the procedure, do this! Push in the button and rotate back and forth about 20 times while holding in. This will take all the oxidation off the switch. Your trip odometer and fss will reset instantly after doing this.
