Blessed and cursed
After 36k and 3+ years, I'm starting to get that new car itch (08 bought new in 9/09). But the car looks new, drives new, and still gets looks wherever it goes. It's also still a blast to drive, and has an LPW. But my college daughter's Fiesta has more stuff than the XF will ever have. My wife won't let me move it to the collection saying four cars there is more than enough, and she's right. Guess it's a keeper, and I'll just have to soldier on.
You know I have always been a Ford guy and am at the point in my life that I could have bought the new 13 boss. But as luck would have it I had my eye on my 06 limited roadster for about 3 months, and just as I was getting ready to order the Mustang the Crossfire came availavle .Now we all know the new boss has power and handling to spare, has all the new goodies you could want, but what it does not have is that gorgeous body and the exclusivity that the crossfire will have. I say that because even brand new Boss's were being deeply discounted because there were way to many being released. I have been told that only 40k crossfire's
World wide were made every year my car becomes that much better. Keep your Crossfire . Cheers Mongoose57

The other night I was watching a rerun of the Mecum Auction from Kansas City that was back in the spring. There was an '05 limited roadster there on sale. Don't know how many miles but the car looked very nice. Sold for $12,000. The announcers said they doubted that it would be a collectable but they still said it was a good looking car. Have 80,000 miles on mine. Figure I'll keep it until it no longer runs and I can't get parts for it. No sense making car payments when I don't have to.
I think you are on the right track, history is full of cars that were not suppose to be special but for whatever reason they developed a cult status.
Like the proverbial fishing story some cars just seem to develop a persona that far exceeds the truth. I do believe that the Crossfire will be one of these cars. I, like you, will keep my Crossfire and only time will tell

20% wrecked? Yeah right. Crossfire, even the SRT will never be a collectible, majority of the automotive community consider it to be an ugly car and thus the resale value. Cars like Evo IX will be as they were made for only one year in 06' and now cost twice as much as the SRT and the sticker price was only between $27-34k.

Sounds like we found the leader of the troll attack... Do you even own a Crossfire, or did you just show up to stir crap and lead the trolls threw the gate? By your own post you'd have to be stupid to own one right?
When the only difference in the car is the unnoticeable knee level air bags, I doubt that the model year standing alone will make much difference. And 76k units is not much of a limited production. I hope against hope that I am wrong. And I think of all year/production models, I have the rarest ('08 manual coupe).

That is correct, and one of the real reasons I would say the "BluBird" is our classic becuase of the 2008 year. Now when you think about it if only 2000 were made how many actually got to America? I have the 2007 which only 4800 were made. and same how many are in Europe. My 2007 is a late one for the Toy and BluBird are only 647 cars apart.

LMAO....car experts are everywhere...but, you need to take note...this is a XF forum....we like them, we collect them...we don't like other sports cars, we like ours....were those too big of words for you to understand? I can make it simple...if you like.....
I am unashamedly, even proudly biased! If the Crossfire market was hot, I would not have been able to afford one. What did I get? A beautiful sports car, made largely by Mercedes in Germany, that can do 0-60 in 6.4 seconds and corners like nothing else! What the car 'experts' don't know is OK with me! God bless their ignorance.
SO 928 SRT 2005 Roadsters mfg'd. So about 350 were black. So if 20% are history that means there are only 280 left. So I have 2. So I have 1.4 % of those left...... Cool
So what!
