What, your kidding? The 350Z shares it's platform with hulky SUV's within the Nissan Corp? How good can that be, a sport car driving around on a truck frame?

If I may ask, what Z forum do you belong to? Could I get an invite there to look around and maybe learn a little more about the car? Maybe I could also ask around and see what those folks think of our XF's?

Oh, I did own a Datsun 280Z, bought it new in '77 and drove it for 7 years before I had to sell it. I first saw the "Z" in '69 at the Tokyo Auto show... now the 240, 260 and 280's were the real "Z" cars!!! Bob Sharp racing racked up plenty of wins in them. IMO the "Z" lost their appeal after changing over to the "ZX". Bummer...

Trolls? Why? Because we post the truth to clear out the BS? Im sorry, but there's no way a Crossfire is even close to a Z in terms of performance. Think about it... 287HP vs what? A measly 210HP? Both cars weigh nearly the same. It's pretty much common sense as to which one is faster.

As for the looks argument, Z wins once again hands down. My sister saw a crossfire on the road the other day (maroon type color) and made a comment on how ugly it looked. I tried to convince her that it looks decent, but she disagreed.

Do you actually think the Z doesn't get looks? My friend gets nothing but compliments and "nice car!" remarks from girls just walking down the street... it's insane. I'm sure you guys get compliments, too. But you need to realize that your cars are not the only ones that get compliments.

As for the Mach1 guy, yes the Mach 1 is a more strip capable car. Best handling solid rear axle? The Z will wipe the floor with the Mach1 on a road course, sorry. LS1 F-Bodies, stock vs. stock, like it or not, are faster than Mach 1s. You probably ran into some bad drivers. There's stock F-Bodies that trap 109-110 in the 1/4 mile. Best trap speed for a Mach 1 I've ever heard of was a 106.

And why not choose a Cobra over a Z? Maybe it's because of the horrid build quality. Maybe it's because there's millions of mustangs on the roads already. Maybe they actually want something that can handle. There's reasons like that and many more. Why not choose a Cobra over your Mach 1?
you 350z guys crack me up LOL. I'm sure ya love to read magazines so in Hot Tin Roofs from car and Driver they compared The mach 1 vs the 350z vs s2000 vs a pos TT. The live axle mach placed 2nd to your 350z. But straight line performance wanst even close but the mach was only 1mph slower avg lap speed "a track with twisties" Not bad for a liveaxle caron the god awful goodyeargator backs, some of the worse tires ever made. They said after a fewlaps they were already cupped. Put some grippery rubber on the mach 1 and it may have been a different out come.
Not to impressive on the z's part since it was 4kmore expensive and already had good rubber. I trapped my bone stock mach 1 at over 107 and pulled a 13.2 down the 1320. go to mach1registry forum. This is not uncommon. ALot of guys did better thani did stock. Richard wilson ran a 12.89@109 bone stock. You guys need forced induction to get there lol. And yes my hawk did trap higher than my mach but, there is more to drag racing than trap speed its called gearing and the machs gearing is better than the f-body. So as i said before the 350z does not I repeat does not impress me. Don't be mad cuz I spanked one of your slow brotheren. He even had a head start.

Great!!!!

Now we are having Mustang vs 350Z arguments on the Crossfire forum......

This is just silly!

Please go find the 8 or 9 Crossfire owners that want to race and set the record straight between yourselves. The rest of us could care less...

The "look" of a car is completely a personal judgement. To say "my car looks better than yours" is ridiculous. If you add "in my opinion, my car looks better than yours", you have qualified the statement, but why should I care about your opinion any more than you care about mine?

Ane one final item: There is no maroon Crossfire!

Also, what rims and tire size did they use. I plan on going with some Volk 19's in the future.
Yup, it was Hotchkis swaybars, rims, BBS mesh 19x9 Front AND rear, I don't remember the particular street tire though, let me see if I can find the article.
TY so much for that info. Looks like I may have to turn my Cusco's in since this very reputable mag did this test. Anyways, from what i think you said, they just did very minor adjustments. I see you said that they didn't change out the control arms which means that it was the standard 0 camber of the Z's stock suspension correct? If so, that is quite incredible with no camber. Wonder how much better it would be with 1-2 degrees extra.

When I say stock suspension, I mean stock, no nothing was added onto the settings/adjustments, the dampers, the springs, nothing. Only the swaybars and rims and tires. As a matter of fact SCC said its pointless to change a thing on the stock Z suspension, even with the Nismo stuff, SCC said it was that good from the factory.

Yeh Jim, your right sorry to say. If we had any "moderators" here that paid attention to what's going on at least we could move this thread to the "Other Cars" forum....

Yes - SOME of us love joining others (as there are not very many Crossfires around) and cruising together! We have a ton of fun and have met some great people. Not very easy to get 16 Crossfires all in one place for a day!

Hmm, let me cater it back to the Crossfire side then. Is Chrysler going to do anything with the NA version of the car in the future, or is it supposed to be as is?

Its Club3G, when I was in Law School I owned a 2000 Eclipse GT, totaled it, bought another, then got out of school, thought I wanted a more practical car sold the Eclipse, bought a 2003 Nissan Maxima with a 6MT, got bored of it in six months, then bought the Z. Four cars in four years, I am a moron.

As for the forums, well since I was there at the onset, and I have a ridiculous amount of useless knowledge about the Eclipse, I stayed on with that forum, and add in a few things from here to there.
