Actually wouldn't hurt my feelings.. but this is what MAYAman was looking for I do believe.. Guess he'll have to sell me that rear spoiler since this is a different model year and probably won't fit...

Just a normal 300 to 350hp V8 from Mercedes will do. Will the car gauges still work? Will it behave like a normal Crossfire? What are the dangers?

thanks, please be as descriptive as possible especially about price.
found a couple more srt6's in NY state for you maya:

Black SRT6 Convert, High Mileage, Automanual, Descent Price

Black SRT6, Pretty Low Mileage, Automanual, REDUCED Price

SSB SRT6 Very Clean, Low Mileage, Automanual, GOOD PRICE

Guys, I have gotten some messages from people stating that the 6 speed in the Xfire is not reliable and that it pops out of gear if you accelerate hard? How many 6 speed guys can attest to this. Is the 6 speed garbage? I really want a manual car, which is why I haven't pulled the trigger on the SRT yet. Please be as detailed as possible how the 6 speed feels? Quick shifts? Nice click when shifted into gear?

thanks

umm...maya i dont know if you know this but there were never any 6 speed srt6's made?!? and from past posts alot of people are 50/50 on them from what I read about the manual 6 spd...and a couple people wanted to drop a 6spd in a srt6 and they where quoted around 10,000 to 20,000 crazy money...

LOL I know. I'm looking at high mileage 6 speeds for Rudy's V8 swap. Or an SRT. Haven't decided yet, need to see if I can get a 6 speed for the right price. But the tranny popping out has me concerned as to the quality of the tranny in the 6 speeds.

If 50% of 6 speed owners hate it.......................hmmmmmmmmmmm

Just form my personal experience, I have 98,000 miles on mine and while it is a little stiff getting into 1st and reverse when it is cold I haven't had an issue with it popping out of gear. I don't know how it would hold up to 100 more horsepower but I am happy with mine. I know there has been a lot of talk about it popping out of 1st but I think that was with early models and I believe that was resolved.
I wouldn't call it a quick firm shift but it is a fairly short throw with a smooth solid engagement.
If you are looking for a "Rockcrusher" with a good Hurst shifter feel, you will be disappointed but all in all I am happy with it IMHO

Search is over! Price is alittle high it's clean SSB SRT6 less than 10,000 miles in PA...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrysler-Crossfire-2dr-Cpe-SRT6-2005-chrysler-crossfire-srt-6-amg-supercharged-9-k-mi-serviced-coupe-/190823563472?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2c6df880d0#ht_48145wt_1168
Maya I think a 6spd and a V8 conversion are going to be pricey as I'm doing a V8 AMG conversion now and it's a hard mechanically, time consuming, pricey project...let alone the 6spd tranny and install will run u 5 figures...i would stick with a clean SRT6 and mod it just my .02 cents

I have an 04, mine has never popped out of gear, never grinded gears, never a problem with it at all. Which is why Im going to throw a hundred horses more to it ... Ultimately I want to supercharge or turbo it but thats when Ill need a custom flywheel and a spec clutch. I may need the clutch sooner. Dont know, the people who have thrown massive amounts of power behind the 6 speed arent around to talk about it long term.

They fixed this issue in December of 03 I believe, any with a build date later than that should not have this problem. Mine was built in dec 03 and I had it pop out maybe 5 times under 50K miles but hasn't happened in the last 30+
