Default Wrecked again!!

Damn!! I think it was probably just about a year ago that I got rear ended and pushed into the truck in front of me. Trashed my front end. Way too long in the body shop, and I had to get a hood from another forum member because the shop couldn't find one.

Today, cruising down the interstate and two cars up, the guy slams on his brakes and comes to a complete stop - for no apparent reason. The Lincoln Navigator in front of my locked up his brakes and headed for the should to avoid hitting that guy. I locked them up and headed for the shoulder trying to avoid hitting the Lincoln.

Almost made it too! Just clipped his left rear with my right front. Right headlight, hood & right fender are trashed! Damn!! XFire is back in the body shop and I'm back in a rental.

Just in case the shop can't find them, anyone have any of those parts for sale?

I have a refurbed right ( passenger ) headlight that was damaged in shipment, but I repaired the broken lower mounting tabs with epoxy and it should be serviceable.
$150 + shipping.

PM or email me for pics

That happened to me (not in the Crossfire). An immigrant merged onto the freeway two cars in front of me. He hit the brakes and slowed way down. Everyone behind him got slowed down as well. Just when everyone got off their brakes, the immigrant locked his brakes up, and a pile-up chain reaction followed.
Guess who got the tickets? Yup. Everyone BEHIND the idiot.
Did you get a ticket for "failing to keep your car under control"?

Yup. Kinda standard here in Illinois. If you hit someone, under any circumstances, you're probably going to get a ticket for "Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident". If the cop is cool, he doesn't do it. This cop wasn't cool. He took over half an hour to write out the accident report and a ticket.

The gas cap is always unlocked unless the whole car is in lock down.

I'm good for locking the car while I'm pumping gas, because I plan to run inside for something when I'm done, then I can figure out why I can't close the gas door!!

BTW ... I'm supposed to get the XFire back on Tuesday (4/16)

I got my XFire back today. All beautiful again. Now the problem is, I have a brand new headlight on the right side and a 2005 headlight on the left. Huge difference in appearance.

I'm surprised the shop even found a NEW headlight.
Tell them to restore the other one to make them match.
See if they are up to a challenge.

LOL! Valk ... I wouldn't even ask. They'd probably do one of those wipe things, if anything. I'd rather do it myself.

An immigrant... really? Because it would be completely different if it was your typical white trash behind the wheel?
