Default UltraGuage ~ Could Use a Little Help...

I've had an UttraGuage plugged into my diagnostic port for quite a while, and it has been operating flawlessly.

I tried to unplug it from the port today, cause I wanted to read some codes on a friends car.

For the life of me I could not get it to unplug from the port.

Anyone have the trick, or Decoder Ring, on how to get that puppy unplugged (short of using a Dremel on it)....

Any help is appreciated... ...

Thanx...

I also had to use pliers. don't squeez it so hard that you crack the plug.

Yea, it can be a bit difficult to remove the plug.
Another thing, sometimes it won't start back up after being unplugged, just keeps saying 'scanning'.
I found that pressing the top button of the up/down combination buttons get's 'er going again.

If you get a good bright light and look at the bottom edge where the plug goings into the connector you will see a clip that holds the plug into the connector. Push in on the connector in the center of the bottom edge. It will come right out. The first time I removed it I pushed a small artist paint brush handle into the edge of the connector and it came right out. Not hard if you know it is there. Hope this helps!

Folks, Thanx to all for the informative responses (and my delayed response).

I was able to get it out with a strong nudge from my water pump pliers.

Once re-inserted it restarted with the Menu Button and scanned and started okay.

Next time I pop it out, I'll take a closer look for that clip, as there has to be a smarter way to easily remove this thing, when the need arises...
