Windshield Wiper
Had to move my car out of storage and drive it in the rain yesterday and I noticed something strange and didn't know if this is how the wipers operate. When in the on position and stopped they worked intermittent. When I started to drive they came back on and worked normal. Is this how they are suppose to work? I searched and didn't find any answers.
Oddly, I have had my car 3 years and never noticed. A lady riding with me noticed it right away this summer.
I think they call them "speed sensitive" wipers.

I noticed this feature early in my ownership. It is nice not having the wipers beating away madly while stopped. I do however find it extremely odd (and annoying) that the intermittent has only one speed. Even my 30 year old Ford has several intermittent settings. What gives? Is this a typical Mercedes thing? I miss having the option of one swipe every ten seconds in light mist/drizzle. Either the blades braaapppp across a dry windshield, or I have to leave them off and continually bump the stalk manually. The one intermittent speed never seems suited to conditions. Is there any kind of a retrofit to get variable intermittent on our XFs?

The wipers worked well for me, gave my passenger (mentioned above) something to complain about other than me for about 2 minutes.
It was a nice break!
