Default Just a Thought

I have had my crossfire since wednesday, and put about 325 miles on it so far with just people wanting to see it, and just hitting up the curvy roads around my hometown (great distraction from term papers!). I am amazed at this car, I took it out today with relatively heavy rain, (after spending 3 hours washing and waxing on friday, ya know for the winter), and I can't believe how this thing grips wet pavement, I mean I guess I am used to driving a dakota with 300lbs of torque through the rear wheels via a 5-speed stick, but the x-fire won't slide (i wasn't really pushing it, but driving aggressively). Amazing. One thing though that puzzles me, I took the girlfriend out last night on a date, and we stopped at DQ for a pumpkin blizzard, and I was answering questions left and right, the same with when I stopped for gas, and parked at Target. At school it was ridiculous, I goto CCS in detroit, if not the best, in the top 3 for industrial design in north america, and when I came out after class, there were a couple freshmen standing around looking at it, (my school is 90% car nuts). I couldn't leave without showing them the wing, and popping the hood, and letting them sit in it. Anyway what my point is, this car wasn't well received by the press (car and driver), and doesn't seem to sell very well either, why can't I go anywhere without someone telling me my car is awesome and that they want one? My buddy with a 350Z doesn't get this much attention.

Probably the CHRYSLER badge on it.

Mags do like the looks but are paying more attention to the new mechanics and maybe more to the $$$ that advertise in their mags.

I think DC dropped the ball not having the new 3.5 engine and nicer seats . the front grill should have been more different from the Caravans or Pacificas'..The silver window treatment doesn't make much sense either. It doesn't take much to spoil a great takeoff for a new car.Or should I say a reskinned SLK.That's my 2 cents.

i don't really understand this either. i get sooo much attention and everybody i've talked to loves the car to death. everybody comments on how awesome the car looks in both the interior and exterior styling. some people say that for the money it's not that fast. i really like the engine choice and it gave them more money for the interior. so yeah maybe you could get a faster car for the money, but the car's not nearly as nice overall. i love this car!

It's the reskin thing the car mags don't like that.
