Crossfire Production Numbers
After playing around with the Chrysler website recall search, I discovered:
025422 is an '04 coupe
025423 is an '05 coupe
000041 is the first valid VIN in the system. Assuming there were no skips in the sequence, there were either 25382 or 25422 total 2004 Crossfires produced, depending on what happened to those first 40.
The highest number in the system is 048650, an '05 roadster.

Another interesting statistic here is that there must be 23228 '05 Xfires built already and we're not even half-way through the production year. Compare that to the whole year '04.
I wonder how many RT6 have been built to date???
I wonder how many are in the different countries?
I had an SVT Contour at one point and they only produced about 2,000 a year, however, I saw about the same number of those as XFires. But Xfires they produced like 20,000. Can someone explain?
Thanks

I'm taking delivery today on a new, 2004 (leftover)
The build date is October, 2003
Last six sequence is 008759
Therefore 16, 663 additional units were titled as 2004's and built after October '03

Your car was built within weeks of mine. I didn't realize that the build date was as early as October '03. I was thinking possibly December.
Was your car sitting at the dealership all that time?
Check the last 6 digits of the vehicle serial number (VIN). Your vehicle ownership title should have that number printed. Then check the serial number engraved on the firewall of the car itself. DC started at 000000 and an earlier post mentioned that the first 000040 cars were prototypes (not for sale) and the serial number of every car produced was increased by one.
The series that was started in 2004 was continued consecutively right into the 2005 model year and continues to date. Hope this helps.

I haven't been on here in a long time. I like the new look! I am getting ready to buy an 04 model soon. I will get an 05 if I can get a good deal on one.
What range of VIN #'s roughly should I be looking at that has the most corrected TSB's? I am sure the dealers around here made the mods by now. However if I can get one DC took care of first, or that doesn't need any mods I would be happier.
Thanks a lot. I can't WAIT!

In my opinion, you are better to get the latest '04 serial no. you can get.
Not only will you likely get a more updated model (in theory that is) but you will also be getting one that hasn't been sitting around somewhere for as long (were talking new vehicle here). As mentioned in this thread, the serial numbers for 2004 go up to approx. 25000.. It appears that vehicles serial #10,000 or earlier were built sometime prior to January 2004.
Hope that gives you a guide.

I have a 2003 crossfire... the numbers are 017329
its a manual its actually very clean for its age im surprised there's a community out here for crossfires. When I first got the car I didn't really know anything about it but the more I learn the more I am fascinated with it and love it more!!
Lots of info here including manuals and production numbers.

Let's clear up your misconception as to the year of your Crossfire. Your Crossfire may have been manufactured in the calendar year 2003, but is a 2004, since the model years were 2004 through 2008. Your VIN# will show a 4X017329 as the last numbers in your VIN. It appears in the lower corner of your windshield or on the inside of the driver's door. The "4" indicates the model year, which is 2004.
Enjoy your "new" Crossfire.....

My black 2005 Crossfire Limited Roadster is 1 of 428 built, based on production numbers in this forum. My car has the optional vanilla interior and the optional navigation system. Is there any place that I might find a way to narrow it down more.? I am guessing it is less than 1 of 100. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!

The production number chart in this thread, tells me that it's 1 of 428. I was hoping to narrow it down more. When I bought the car, my friend at a Chrysler dealership looked throughout the U.S. and could only find 2; we bought one.
