Default Car Wash/Waxing for New Crossfire

Since No one has welcomed myself yet on my two posts so far as a new Crossfire owner, or even responded, thought I would send a third, and get recommendations as to how often I should get my car washed and waxed. I've never had a car nice enough to bother before.

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the car. Be sure to add your car's details to your sig.

The washing/waxing varies depending on where you drive, the weather, is the car garaged?, etc. I wash mine weekly and will probably wax it every 3 to 4 months. Go to Meguiars and you can get a car care prescription customized for you.

Welcome and Congrats on your new ride.

I agree with C_Plunkett...Check the Meguiars web site.

I wash my Xfire Roadster about 3 times a week and wax it at least 6 times a month. Having a black car, I am very **** retentive about keeping my car extremely clean. Our cars are great and beautiful, they deserve the extra attention.

Good Luck with your Xfire.

Meguiar's car car prescription will likely recommend the Gold Class line of products. I called them on it saying that I used the nxt Generation Tech Wax. They said that is their recommendation and that they haven't updated their prescription recommendations yet. But the Tech Wax is definitely a good product and very easy to use. My Xfire is a month old and already has three coats of Tech Wax on it.

Thanks for the web recommendationb for Megular, it's quick, detailed and pointed out what I already knew about acid rain in the area. They recommend 10 per year waxing, but I reckon 6 would probably suffice.

Thumbs up Re: Car Wash/Waxing for New Crossfire

jlseagull,

We have the same interior combo .....be very careful when wearing blue jeans, especially dark or black ones. I purchased a pair of seat covers from a local auto store, they are for everyday use if I am going out on the town or to a car show I remove them. Prior to getting the seat covers, I would have to clean my interior during and after each outing.

Good Luck.

I also am using the nxt Generation Tech Wax. Meguiars also had the prescription recommendations for me as waxing 10 times a year, buy also I figured that 6 would most likely be what I end up doing.

Since I had my rear bumper repainted I called Meguiars about how long I should wait before I wax with this new paint. They recommended waiting 60 days before waxing.. So now I have a car that gets amazing dirty on the rear bumper only. December 4th can not come soon enough; ie: the 60 day mark.

I had the same question when I bought my black x-fire.

The feedback I got was to use:
Zaino
Z2 with ZFX accelerator
and Z6 gloss enhancer between every coat.

Also use a microfiber towel.

I haven't used these products yet but the overwhelming response peaked my attention.

I come from a family of gear heads that use Meguiars. I'm sure I will try both.

I am afraid to get swirl marks or spider webs. I'm dragging my feet. I will probably give in and pay someone.
