Default Side sun visor

Apparently everyone except myself are well over 6' on this forum so I might be the only one to complain about the lack of being able to swing the driver's side visor to the side.

I'm guessing all of you have from an inch to 1/32" from top of head to the headliner, so it is not a problem. But for me with my seat jacked up fairly high, that SoCal sun is still a problem.

Meaning, I'm sure it is doubtful someone has come up with a fix, but should there be at least one other height challenged person on this forum who has found a good solution I'd be interested in hearing about it. However it excludes sticking tinted plastic to the side window (like mom's install on the back seat windows of their SUVs).

And I suppose I should add, that I'm also night driving challenged so dark tinted side glass is not an option - though I'd love to have it on my black XF.

I have not tried these but they definitely look effective.

I have complained but no one listens. A ball cap works, and I did do a 35% tint on the SRT6 coupe (15% on the rear). I do like the swinging sun visors on my Audi A6. More than swinging visors, I would have liked an auto-dimming mirror like on the 2004s. But no one listens to that complaint either.

Buy a used one and add it yourself, I did.

Default Side sun visor

onehundred80, what a brilliant idea! One thing though, as I suspected, a needle can be somewhat pushed into the (?) foam on the side. (above the door). Is it sturdy enough to hold the screws to hold the visor securely - especially since the visor is spring loaded? Or just get really long screws?

No doubt you're able to enjoy the surround view of yourself with both visors down and mirror doors open.

Somebody just mentioned your inquiry. I just discovered that nobody else seems to have what I thought was a factory driver side window sun shade complete with mirror on the back side. It looks completely stock seemingly matching the two above the windshield. I'm going to do better photos later.

That was me.. but then I clicked through the second post and saw cardboard shoved against the window.. and it was a red one.. LOL. But seems I had seen a post on some one having done that at one point.
