I would venture to say you sending unit, or sensor, which ever you would like to refer to it as, is bad. Just have it replaced and see if that fixes the problem. YOUR mechanic could have done that btw. Just sayin'.

 

Well we had a 50 / 50 chance. I have a LH driver's side fog light available. Right now there are no old style fog lights on E-Bay. I checked with the salvage guy I use and he doesn't have any fog lights right now either. I would suggest that you try to be patient and set up a search on E-Bay so you'll get an e-mail whenever someone lists a Crossfire fog light. They do come up occasionally. . . . Here's a recent listing that sold for less than $100.00 . . .

I just did a search on car-part.com. Here is a brand new one in Hialeah FL (pretty close to me) for $187.00. I'd be willing to pick it up for you and ship it to you in the Great White North for my actual cost. If you don't want to be patient waiting for one to show up on E-Bay, you might try calling these people to put a deal together. Offer them $150.00 . . . the worst that can happen is that they say "no". If you make the deal just tell them you'll be sending a friend by (Bob Davis) to pick it up for you.

Thank you so much Red Dog (Bob)! Before I email Captain Rastro Auto Parts, do you happen to know if their fog light is an old style?

 

I added the sensor problem thread to my post that mentioned the problem last night.
Old style/new style they both fit and nobody except the Concours d'Elegance judge will spot the difference.
If you get one without the reflector and your one has it, you can cut out your one or vice versa.
