manual tranny
Are all crossfire manual trannys interchangeable? Mine pops out of first (syncros) and I've been quoted $2200 to fix the issue. However, I can get a low mileage tranny from an 06 for around $800.
Do it - name the dealer that gave you that quote - then write a letter to your state attorney general's office.
Leskovar was the dealer, said that even though there was a service bulletin (only reason i took him to the dealer)
there was no recall and therefore i would have to pay out of my pocket. Went to a local tranny shop after that, after checking with his distributors he told me there were no after market kits and the parts would have to come from Mercedes. He did not give me a quote, but did say it would be expensive.

I would go with the used tranny.
