Drove paddle shifters, they make a big difference, 95% of the time a manual has more power to the wheels with less rotational weight, only exception is the mb with its heavy a s s flywheel.

Off the top of my head, 5-8 have actually built a system and done most of the instal, but only one got a turbo to even limp. All of them were just throwing time and money at a problem that is possibly unsolvable. 1 guy got one plumbed and the car started, but it never operated better than a crappy old lawnmower. Cheaper and more time effective to just buy a 6 and pay Rudy to drop a 55k in it.

Just to throw my $.02 into this and light some fires along the way also...

I personally would love to have SRT6 power with three pedals and the XF body, but I don't have the endless resources to make that happen. So, I thought long and hard before I bought my XF and determined HP was more important to me than having three pedals.

My take on this is, why are people trying to polish a turd for lack of a better way to say it. I'm not calling the XF a turd, but you are trying to throw money into something that really doesn't give you any ROI. I'm not saying you have to make money from this endeavor, but spending $10k on top of buying a car for $10k in a car worth $10k is just crazy stupid to me.

As much as I don't like Mustangs and Camaros, if you really want high HP and three pedals, there are MANY more options out there. Stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill and compromise on what works best for you and your budget.

Owners like the aerodynamics, body style, light weight, rarity and stiffer XFire.
Mustangs and camaros are everywhere, not many compliments on a beefed up mustang or firebird but even a stock XFire gets compliments from others.

I think you can drop the light weight from your list.
This car is a tank.

It is also lighter than a battle tank, but when you study the thickness of material in the body of this car you will understand what I mean. It could have been much lighter.

It could, and if there is a space 4" big there is something 3" in the space.

Around 180 lbs lighter than a 2004 slk320.
Many things could have been done.
Would you rather have plastic fenders?

According to the 2003 issue of Motor Trend, the SLK320 is only 70lbs heavier.

Yet it's faster (in the 1/4 mile) than the Crossfire by .34 sec.

OMG, another L-Body lover! I have had 2 Shelby Charger Turbos, and 3 Rampages, last one was full Shelby Charger Turbo conversion. And yes, the Crossfire does feel heavy compared to those.
I keep getting sucked into niche vehicles.

I have the same thought.

Old vids... lots of changes on the car since this track day. Couldn't build any boost at the line... but here is a running turbo Crossfire.

Thanks Grip! 11.30 @ 128mph is my best to date (last year). Had some issues this year and only put 500 miles on the car. UPD built me a 10" converter and the 3.27 rear gear should help push near 11 flat with a good pass. May throw some more boost at it if all goes well next year.

Who did your conversion you should talk to the guy who's had his car held hostage for multiple years and set him up with them

My build was no secret. Eurocharged did the first build in 2009. It has undergone a revamp at Performance AutoWerks and most recently engine machine work was AutoMachine and the rest was done by me.
