Well was driving the crossfire and noticed a rattle from the exhaust, it started a bit ago but wasnt that noticable. Now its pretty loud, just wondering if its common. My guess its common with the manual. Had the same prob with my 99 Vette.

 

Yup, mine was and it turned out to be one of the 4 cat convertors. Started as a low rattle and gradually got louder and louder until it sounded like I was driving a wreck! Had to be replaced under warranty. My car had done 8,000 miles when it happened. (mine is an auto)

 

Well, looks like another trip to the evil dealership. Sounds like what mine is doing. Was hoping for a quick fix.

 

I am getting a rattle that sounds like a gargle when accelerating under load. Usually on uphills. Does that sound like what yours was doing?

Take a quick look at the rubber muffler hangars and see if they're still there... I've broken three pairs of them and finally gave-up replacing them and went with really heavy zip ties...

 

Hey everybody. After my first trip to the dealer with no result, I went back and drove with the Crossfire technician to show him where the rattle was occurring. It was happening SOMETIMES at about 2500 rpm in top gear (auto) while going uphill. Sounds a bit strange.

Anyway, the tech did a great job isolating the noise to the exhaust hanger. Seems like he has seen this before, there may be a trend. Turns out that he reinforced the hanger and it fixed the problem. Kudos to Woodstock Chrysler in Woodstock, GA.
