Default Hot air blows when A/C is on !!

I occasionally feel hot air blow when my A/C is on. There's no rhyme or reason to it, it just happens. It can be hotter than blazes outside and the A/C is blowing frigidare cold!! Then all the sudden it blows hot air for a while, then returns to cold. I assumed (you know what that means!) it was doing this to prevent "freeze up ". Does anyone else experience this?? Thanks!

I never experienced that, and I drove my car practically every day last summer.

I had the same problem on one of my cars. They found a temp sensor in front of the evaperator was touching it so it turned on the heat to defrost the system. The repair was to move the sensor away from the evaperator.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have them check it out at the dealer. Sounds like a possibility!
