203,000k on the dash and still going strong.
Re: 203,000k on the dash, and still going strong.
Just basic maintenance and good luck I'm guessing!
I've always used premium gas, and try to keep the engine bay clean!
About every 30k I will run seafoam through my vacuum line, and a bottle in my gas tank as well.
I've had to replace the cam shaft position sensor, after dieing at an intersection for a few seconds and ignoring the check engine light before hand
Had a catalytic converter go out on me 4 years ago when I was getting onto the on ramp of the interstate, all of a sudden it sounded like an old tractor, thankfully they were able to replace it with a universal catalytic converter, which costed about $150, and it has about 130,000 miles on it now.
Had my main coolant hose break on me this summer, had to use water for 100 miles, got home and ordered a whole new upper and lower coolant hose set off eBay for $45.

I'm 24 and I got this car about 2 or 3 months ago. It has 14x,xxx miles. I had to replace the motor mounts, power steering return hose, PS resiviour and o ring, pcv hoses (oil catch can), steering dampener, valve cover gaskets and tune up (spark plugs, oil, etc).
My rear main seal is leaking...

Are you sure its the rear main and not the tranny plug?
or it could just be oil left from the leaking valve covers /breathers that you fixed already.
Trans leaks are common and a simple fix.
Clean all the oil off and check it again in a week.

How do I check the tranny fluid? I will clean the bottom end and look for leaks in a week.

Needswings will have one.

Re: 203,000k on the dash, and still going strong.
With 57k on my roadster and 36k on my SRT6, it is reassuring the see high mileage Crossfires out there. It gives me hope mine will still be running in another 15-20 years. Of course, I only put on 2-3k a summer on each so it will be a long time before I even see a 100k. I just do regular maintenance and change the oil/filter before storing them each winter. Have not had a problem with either one other than a permanent tire pressure icon on the roadster.
