Exclamation Rear Suspension noise.

Hey guys! My crossfire has developed a weird sounding noise in my 04 limited, actually a couple of noises.

First and foremost is the rear suspension. Its extremely loud and hollow sounding when I go over bumps and potholes and whatnot. I heard through the grapevine it might be the rear sway bar bushings, but they look intact (not 100% sure if they are though.) Anybody know what it could be?

Second, it sounds like all of the interior plastics are creaking. every time I go over a bump everything creaks and sounds like its going to break! Does anybody know how this could be fixed? Maybe some WD-40?

Thanks for the help in advance you guys!

Two possibility comes to mind, The sway bar brackets may be cracked (click on link) or the hatch is not secure. Open the hatch and look at each side. There you will find a plastic adjustment pad that when loosened can be slide down farther to take up any slack. You should also jack the car up using the differential and then pull push on the tires to check for excessive play in/out, fore or aft.
Give those a try and see what you find.

Alrighty, so I checked the sway bar links, and they seem to be intact. Im wondering if it may be the control arms or just all the bushings. I live in MN and its cold as all hell here so maybe they just gave out. Also, if the hatch wasn't secure, would I be able to move it around when its closed?
Thank you!

So I too have had the noisy backside I have taken silicone spray liberially to the bushings, yes some say a temporary fix at best, but at least you'll know if this is the cause of your noise. The eventual thing I found that made my nusiance "creeky" noise, a couple of pieces of gravel on the lower control arm lodged next to/under the rear shocks and the lower control arm . Had to dig at them to get them out, but that cured my noise.

I had the same problem. My mechanic is a Merc specialist and it is a common problem caused by the rear lower Knuckle bush (or also called the Rose Joint in the UK). Replaced both at only about £10 each (about $12) -problem sorted.
