Hello fellow Crossfire Owners.
I am in need of your assistance and expertise.
I have an 03 Crossfire Coupe that doesn't get used very often (only 24k miles). I went to start her up, turned the key and absolutely nothing happened. All of the dashboard lights came on as usual but the engine would not even start to turn over (no engine response at all other than the fan came on full but the car would not start).
I called the RAC recovery. They checked the fuses. All okay. Checked the battery, which was perfectly healthy. Connected the diagnostic computer but he kept getting "no connect/no response" errors so he could not run the diagnostics. He believed there is an issue with the car computer and said that it will need to go to a garage to be fixed.
Has anyone experienced this before? There are 3 units in the box next to the battery but I don't know what one could be faulty. I obviously don't want to buy reconditioned parts at £200+ each if they are not needed, so with your help you can tell me what part I need to buy or what I can do to fix it..
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

if u can replace it ,,, but try the repair first there have been many (over 50) members, including myself, repair theirs but it still does not work, and they say something else is the problem once they put in a knowen working rcm it works, good luck.
Candyman. No need to spend the $$$ to buy a new RCM when it can be repaired for a lot less.
I can replace the bad engine control relay that is causing your problem.
Email me at tighed1@hotmail.com for the details on getting your RCM refurbished.
It is not always the solder joints. At that age it can also be the relays. Very easy to change, plug and play. I always carry a spare RCM.
That is the way to do it, carry a spare.
I put my used spare in to see if it worked and left it in. The original one is in the trunk.
If you are handy you can put a new relay in yourself, details are on this forum.
Thanks for the advice.
can anyone recommend somewhere to buy an RCM in UK who will accept returns?
I can fit the unit myself as it is a simple plug & play.

Very Happy... I went to the UK group and raised the question on there about my issue. Many owners were also saying that it was a problem with the RCU and pointed me to a UK parts dealer. I ordered the new RCU, which arrived today. As this is plug and play, I was able to fit the part in seconds. I am very happy to say that the old girl started straight away.
Thank you all for your help. Without your help, I expect that I would have ended up with lots of garage bills.
