FIRST TIME I HAVE SHOWED MY WING in the Neighborhood and I cant get it to go down. Went up on its own . .. I sorta need to get it down so I am reading the manual where it is called "Spoiler" . .. Maybe it detected I was running it hard ?? Wheelspin ? I AM hearing a noise like the brakes are squeaking.

 

The most common cause for a spoiler showing signs of viagra overdose is a weak battery.

It can be a wheel speed sensor or other issue with the stability control system, but it really IS often a flaky battery.

 

That's funny because I just went to get my Viagra filled and they were out till Monday! Talking about killing my weekend . .LoL Since I cant hear anything out of my right ear or Left I took my wife along with me to get my Peter Pills to tell me where the noise was coming from. So you were correct, it was the speed sensor detecting that the drivers rear was dragging from the E brake shoes. Came home, took it all apart again but this time pulled the rotor and the E Brakes area was rusty and dusty. Cleaned the shoes and inner hub and just got in. Ready to Rip, "Spoiler" went down with a push of the button and stayed down . for now anyway. Hard Days Night . .

 

So something is wrong with the car I think. I have messed with the brakes all weekend and did have to use a BIG *** puller to get the passenger side rotor off, they were almost rusted/fused on but I use the E Brake every time I stop, just habit from driving a manual car. My wing is still coming up and I feel a drag on the car. I am going to see if any codes show up on the scanner. I was driving the other day and trying to be sporty and somehow it went from 3 gear to FIRST GEAR at 35mph! Almost threw me though the windshield. It still has the black cap on the trans meaning ti most like has not been changed so I will start there. I hope its simple . . Any suggestions> I do hear a noise . sounds like I am dragging a chain.

 

I hope you were very careful with the bolt length for the aftermarket wheels on the back.
Just a little extra length will get into the E brake stuff.

 

My friend that is exactly what I thought because they were TO Long but I was careful. I have pulled both sides and one side was stuck but they look fine after brake cleaner and wire brush. I would rather it be brakes, something is dragging, that is a fact. I just worry that its from shifting it down to first the other day. I enjoy using the manual shift mode and it gets 2nd and 3rd hard and aggressive but the downshifting is slow and odd feeling.

 

All I found was the drivers side front heat shield bent to touch the rotor . I did also realize the the rings ARE needed to have the rims fit perfect.

 

Battery is charged, I had a few codes for CPS and O2's that i cleared and it started running better but once I get to 40mph the wing comes up. I was cleaning the brake area and backing plates, could I got overspray on something? I just want the wing to stay down llke it did BEFORE I started messing with the brakes. Any advise Gents? It no longer feels like its dragging but this is annoying. Was the car in limp mode and that underpowered feeling was limp mode? Never a light on the dash, but runs better now.

 

2 possibilities :
1. the wheel speed sensors ( get a cheap digital Oscope off ebay and have a look at the signals at the antilock btake module ( it communicates with the BCM via CAN bus )
2. The speed sensor in the transmission. This I don't know too much about, I know it feeds the TCM, and I would assume it would also get to the BCM via CAN bus.

so there is no way that maybe I got paint on a wheel speed sensor or something simply? This just started when I started messing with the brakes, painting calipers and backing plates and I did have the E brake pads dragging. Also I noticed that when I was looking at the brakes to see if they were dragging the front rotors both would turn easy to a point and then stop with HEAVY drag, almost like they had a high spot. This is the first car where I had to buy 2 scanners/readers in the first month and I may be in over my head. I really enjoy the car and only hope it is not something to do with the trans. thanks for the help.

This all started when it shifted from 3 to 1 . This is not good is it? How long do I have Doc? I did check the fluid and it was clean and fresh. 45mm at 145 degrees. I made my dipstick out of a motorcycle inner cable, the parts store wanted 20 bucks!

 

Yup, that's the one. Nothing like the feeling you get driving around knowing you have an Oscope in your kit and no one else does
supposedly, the 722.6 tranny won't let you harm it, the TCM knows the game and won't let you cheat.
( and if it turns out that the "speed sensor" is the culprit, that IS the conductor plate. )

Scanning posts to see if you have a BAS/ESP light on. If you don't it cannot be a wheel speed sensor since if one of those is bad the light comes on.

found my issue, drivers front caliper was sticking . I am rebuilding the calipers to see if that helps. Bosch Quiet core pads StopTech drilled and slotted rotors for all corners once I get this straight. Thanks. I will report back when installed with pics and details.

 

Reporting back since the spoiler was back to normal this eve. Yesterday I had a air pump relay code and a few others. put a charger on it a few hours each day and today it was back to normal. Pizza Guy Nailed it ;about the flaky battery. Now if I can ever figure out why the battery would go down in a day. I did put a voltage meter on it and I noticed that right after start up its at 14.2 which i read is right. The battery is stamped 4/19 and is a Chrysler battery but who knows how many times it been drained down.
