Default Crossfire hacks to make it mine!

I've had my 2006 Crossfire for three weeks now and am still learning all the in's and outs of my car. Learned a lot from this great Crossfire forum! 1st thing I wanted was hands free Bluetooth so I bought one that fits in the cigar lighter. It has two USB charging ports and an answer button on the side. ($20) Had to have a better drink holder and improvising a two cup one. (Still needs work to make it steady in the rear cause it doesn't fit the down slope of the seat bottom.) If anyone has any hacks they would like to share please chime in.

Replace the old cup holder with a storage bin.

That is an option but I'd like to make a padded armrest that goes over the console box and cup holder that will raise up when you need to get into the console storage. I saw where someone, here on the forum, had made one but it was a little too padded for my taste. I don't like to lay my sweaty arm on the silver plastic. LoL

Maybe take a piece of formica and cut it to fit the console over drink holder. Glue a 1/4" piece of foam to it, and cover it with faux leather the same color of the seat. The original silver console lid could be removed and make the new arm rest a lifting cover. (Just thinking possibilities.)

Hi there welcome to the forum,
One of the first things I did was head over to Redlinegoods.com and order a set of leather wraps for the crossfire interior door pull. That silver material will peel and one time a friend got a finger cut.

Hmmm. That's very interesting. Never heard of anyone doing that before. Something to think about though. Thanks for the tip!

https://www.redlinegoods.com/Crossfi...or-pull-covers
could you please elaborate how you did this?
thanks

Hey Phil, correct basically they come with double side Velcro, you open them up wrap it around the door pull and secure it. There’s no other tools required. Here’s a pic of what they look like sorry I don’t have a better one but I could take up a few more. I got the pair for 49.99 and so far they’ve been great.

paint code location
romad: you asked this at the other forum, where you said were closing it and bringing it here so here it is:

yes. It's on the VIN sticker on the inside of the driver's door. It's a 3 letter code at the bottom of the sticker, toward the left lower corner.
this is the source: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads...lower%20corner.

That is not what I have been reading the last 10 years.
The paint code is hidden on the rear of the body, you have to remove the bumper cover to see it.
Maybe they finally got smart on the later models, any one know for sure ?

well, when i went to the local paint shop, the guy went to my car and took a shot at the sticker at the drivers door and supplied the paint based on that, so it had to be there i think.
and mine is a 2005, which was made in 2004.

You made me get up and go look, and I am lazy.
My code is PRH / ARH / RH according to https://touchupdirect.com/touch-up-p...ler/crossfire/
and none of those codes are on my door sticker, and mine is a 2005 also.
Go look up your code and see.

Only 3-letter code I see is "VIN" and I don't think that's it!

Two things to ask about. 1st is what's the best fins to buy for the rear left / right of the exhaust outlet. I saw somewhere a pic of a two piece screw on vs. 4 individual pieces. 2nd does anyone have pics of they're lower grill that has been painted another color? I'm thinking of a subdued orange for the grill and for the rear fins as mentioned above. Thanks

the link i provided mentioned that the code is on the sticker, but doesnt show on the pic provided by alaxfire. still, how the guy at the paint shop went to the door, took a pic and then provided the right color? the only thing occurs to me is that he used the vin to get it.

i cant get to my car until saturday, so cant see and bring the pic-if it is different from the 1 by alaxfire, but suspect is the same.
here explains how to do so: https://carcody.com/paint-code-by-vin/

Phil alvirez & others here.

My '06 we bought back in May of this year was equipped with 4 Chrysler Logo safety belt pads...2 on the belts and 1 each on the door pulls. Works very well as they are held with velcro. If you wanted the Mercedes-Benz logo, 'fleabay' is your friend for half the cost.

Yes I saw it. Thank you very much for that info. I went to AutoZone and they did not list that color in their computer. All I want is the little nick touch up and not a rattle can or quart. Just few little marks I want touch up. Thanks again!

Oh that sounds really nice to have item. I bought a black one and really like the idea of logo ones. Thanks! Your interior is "really" nice!

After owning my car for three weeks now it just seems to get better and better. Been fixing all the little things that have gone neglected for 15 years. Missing screw here and there fixing all the plastic rattles. New jacking pads, cleaned/detailed engine bay and replaced all the struts on hood and hatch. The splash guard plastics are loose with missing screw so I guess I'll do that next. Being that I'll be pulling the front wheels I may as well put new shocks on as well.

Update @ 8:45pm Ha Ha! After seeing how much shocks cost maybe I'll just wait until they start leaking!
