Congratulations! I am new as well and just about to buy a ‘05 with 54k miles 6 speed. Service at a Mercedes Dealership @ looks/drives great. Any recommendations or look out for... thank you all for any feedback
Something a little "squirrely" with the front end. I'm thinking something to do with the brakes. Yesterday when I applied brakes it wanted to pull slightly to the left and today a couple times it wanted to pull to the right.
Replace the steering stabilizer. Now. Today.
If it pulls one way at times, and another way at times - it's pavement, not the car.
With such wide tires (and other considerations) you will find that the Crossfire does this. All three of mine have - driving the same roads, both of my trucks are fine - it's the nature of the car.
I plan on putting the car on jack stands tomorrow and and check things out. You are more than likely right that I need to replace the steering stabilizer.

By the way congrats to you also on your new "RED" Crossfire! It's really a sharp looking car. I guess we'll both go thru the learning process together.
You stated it is a 2007 model in your pictorial post. Then later stated it is a 2006 model. Machine Gray was available both years. Just curious which model year Machine Gray Crossfire you bought.
Found a complete tire compressor on eBay and bought it to make all the trunk tools complete. I hope it still works! As a side note I left my FOB in my pocket and it got washed. I dried it out in the sun and it still works. Glad it didn't make it to the clothes dryer.
Are the two struts on the hatchback supposed to assist in raising it or just to hold it open? It's kinda a heavy lift. The hood strut after a few inches actually assist in lifting the hood.

I ordered a new steering stabilizer/damper form PartsGeek.com for only $44 shipped.
Busy day with the Crossfire today. The new air filter sealing doughnut arrived and installed it. Washed and waxed the car and found a few flaws I hadn't noticed before. Nothing monumental just some little irritants that need fixing. Looks like the hood will need clay baring while the rest looked/felt ok. I saw on YouBoob where someone showed how well "Off insect Repellant" will help with fogged up headlight lens. "It worked" although not perfect, it was a quick temp fix. I hope to get them sanded down tomorrow with 600 grip first, then 1000 grit last and apply two coats of clear coat.
Where' the paint code located. Is it included in the VIN number?

If you want to remove the “haze”on the headlights, Mothers mag and Aluminum wheel polish works great
lots of tips on you tube

Thanks for the suggestion but my way they will look show room brand new. I'll post before and after pics when I finish. here is a link to one that is similar to what I'll be doing.
I can't find a paint code anywhere so I can order paint touch of pen. The picture is were the codes are "supposed" to be located but I don't see one. Anyone know? I was told by the owner that it was Machine Grey but need to order by paint code on the car.

I read somewhere that the code is behind the rear license plate. I have never looked though.
Machine Gray Paint Codes, for your reference. See attached files.
Be sure to give the tint combo (184). You will notice that Chrysler used the same Sales Code (PDR) for the Graphite Gray & Machine Gray. If you use that Code to purchase a paint pen, you will need to also provide the tint combo (184) to get the proper color. Some paint shops know the difference between the 2 colors; some paint shops DO NOT! I get my touch-up paint pens from Automotive Touchup. They will know the difference between the two grays. Just make sure you say what model year your car is.

Still like to find the paint code that's on the car to make sure I order the correct color. Tomorrow I'll look again more closely. Thanks for the info.
Finally was able to get under the car to check things out. I replace the damper with new one. The old one did not seem bad as it was very hard to pull and push the ram in and out. I also found the drag linkage to be bad and was probably the biggest problem with the wondering. I've ordered a new one and should be here in a week. Drove the car and the steering is "much" better.
Until the drag link arrives I have another little project with the drivers inside door opener handle. From years of use the handle doesn't close all the way back into the door and droops downward a few degrees.
Anyone know where I can find chrome covers for my exterior mirrors? I checked Needswings and didn't find any. "Maybe" they would also be same size that's on other models of Chrysler cars? It would be a nice look. I saw them on a Youtube Crossfire review in Germany.
