wonder how all the other bushings are? scary stuff ! after all, rubber wears out, no matter if you use it or not. and there are many all around.
I just spent $1100 on the front end and had all the bushing checked by a reputable mechanic. Two lower control arms $546 labor $600 and tax 8% alignment included. ( Steering linkage $133 and steering damper $35 which I installed before the garage did the work on lower control arms. 2 brake disc and pads $135 still to be installed by me.) Seems good "for now!" Still have to put on my new brake disc's and pads. Someone had put cheap pads on the car before I bought it and they create a "lot" of brake dust that I don't want to live with. When weather gets a little better I'll install them.
Anyone know what the rubber part is in the picture? It was laying on the auto-trans cross menber. Seems like it might be part of the auto-trans mount somehow. I can lift up on the rear of the trans about 1" or less.
I'm thinking it's not worth the effort to replace the bushings. The bushings I saw for $87 will only do one end of the lower control arm. The other end takes a different bushing so that's another $70 additional cost to do both sides. If I were to repair it again I'd buy the $160 lower and do the work myself and then take it to be aligned for another $89.
Had just bought a 12oz coffee at 7-11 and put it in my cup holder When I made a stop the cup holder, coffee, wallet and phone took a dump down on my passenger car mat. Knew it wasn't that stable but waited too long to screw the cup holder to the trany tunnel. Couple of screw could have saved me a lot of clean up and cursing. I like this cup holder because I have somewhere to put my phone and wallet.
Finally got around to putting my new front rotors and pads on yesterday. Will hopefully get the rear rotors and pads done later this week. When your 73 and sitting on the cold cement your hip and knee joints joints start saying "no way we're helping you get this done!" I have new shocks for front and rear and just couldn't force myself to endure the pain so I'll do that another day. LoL
Tightened up all the plastic splash guards, front wheel wells, and now the ride is much quieter.
Bought a spare filter airbox to paint some custom color/colors to see how it looks. Any suggestions for a color scheme would be appreciated. Only paid $50 delivered off eBay.
i looked in my crossfire folder for the receipt for the grille......but couldn't find it. I purchased the grille from a shop in Florida about 12 years ago
. This is a metal grille.I bought it powder coated black. Then blacked out what was behind it.
