Getting into first gear
The problem has been occurring for a few months now. About 85% of the time I drive, I have to literally force into first gear. Every other gear is fine. My dad has the manual crossfire as well and I drove his for a month and it was very smooth. I told the service department what was going on when I got it serviced but they said they didn't know what it was. I'm taking it in back in next week. The service department said the guy who would be able to fix it is going to transmission school for crossfire's on tues... lol. If anyone has thoughts that would be greatly appreciated.

I assume that you go into 2nd before 1st just to be sure when you start off. Having said that, have you had DC adjust the linkage with the Special Tool 9120? If not, that may just fix it. If that doesn't do it, then some internal work is probably needed.
Good Luck
Or if it is like my car the linage will be adjusted. Adjusted again. And again. Until they finally say the car is fixed...until you park in a downhill parking spot only to find out they adjusted the reverse gear right out of existence. They have now replaced the tranny and I still have every problem with the car possible. My suggestion would be an automatic!
Once in a great while 1st will pop out. At starts, I have conditioned myself to shift into 2nd gear then up to first and so far its done the trick. Its not the best trans by no means however, its still a blast to accelerate onto highways and shift in and out of turns like a true sports car/tourer.

Sorry... I'm no help, I hope you get it resolved... there seems to be two types of manual transmissions... ones that work and ones that are problems... sux...
Good luck...
PS. Ask if the mechanic passed the course!
Have not had any problems shifting my Crossfire. Very nice shifting car although it is the first shifter I have owned in 20 years so had to get used to doing it again. Does anyone know what the percentage is of cars that are auto vs. manual sold? Just wondering...
