Unhappy Strange low sound at 60mph

When driving about 60 - 70 mph and the radio is turned off I notice a low sound coming from the rear. Sound's like a continuous subwoofer activity. It's only above 60 mph and disappears at 70 mph (maybe the wind noise is louder).
No difference whether wing is up or down. Also different tarmac has no influence.

Anybody else noticed it?

I have stock rims, pilots, not lowered (yet!).

Thanks and greets.

Hi CHXF,

I have the same problem... If you can, go to page 5 of these postings and look and what I typed and all the answers. It just might help!

Look for this heading..."Whistling Noise".

i hear it too. i'm pretty sure its just a rear end whine. does your depend on whether or not you're on the gas? i only hear it when the gears are under a load (ie. acceleration).

Thanks for the replies.

@Cruiser: I remember the thread well. I checked that one before I set this one. I even posted there that I didn't have such noise. Which is partly true as my noise is not that kind of whistling or whining. It's continuous low frequency, I'd compare to a subwoofer doing 100Hz.

@NXMX5: It doesn't change. It depends on cruising speed not the load. It's the same noise within the range of 60 to 70mph.

Tomorrow I'll check the tire pressure and listen to it again carefully.

Thank you guys.

When I am going about 60 mph, I will hear it. If I take my foot off the gas, it goes away. Very strange.

Cruiser, that's the rear end gear whine.

Listened to it carefully yesterday and today. Seams like it has gone. Drove the same route at same speed, no noise anymore. Really strange ... I hope it doesn't come up again.

Thanks for help anyway.

Cheers
