Hi All,
I have bought myself a Topdon OBD scanner and have cleared a few fault codes that have now remained in the clear/green.
I have the steering wheel airbag code reoccurring due to the Momo boss supplied cable adapter not providing the required voltage resistance, so will need to replace that.
More worrying though and the reason for this post is the codes p2312 & p2404 as shown on the screenshot that come back immediately > Is anyone able to point me in the right direction of the potential cause and resolve (I have done the TCM reset sequence with pedal down, power off etc)?
Forgive my lack of knowledge here, are these codes a serious issue (undetected whilst driving, kickdown works etc)?
Many thanks in advance
Hi All,

THe reason no one has responded might be two fold:
- You say there is some history here, but you don't tell us what that history is.
- The codes you are getting are apparently not impairing the operation of the car, making one wonder if they are legitimate codes.
As to the P2404, if you get to highway speed and set cruise, does it hold? If so, if you tap the brake pedal, does it cancel the cruise?
If both work, then the code is baloney.
Thanks for the reply pizzaguy, its appreciated.
Apologies for the lack of narrative/history > I bought the car cheap on Copart auction back in Jan23 and its the first time I've scanned via the OBD. Its always idled and driven fine during ownership aside from a lumpy idle a couple of weekends ago on first run following the install of the larger TB and MAF housing mod, which settled down to usual.
I appreciate your steer on the cruise test > I shall try this on a run out tomorrow and confirm back here.
I hadn't considered hoax codes.
Thanks again,

If this code is for real, you should be having some major performance issues when you drive your Crossfire. If not, try to get the code(s) purged and after a few days, see if the code(s) appear.

It can also be the brake lights do not light up when tapping the brake pedal. Sometimes you cannot shift out of park if it is an automatic if the brake light switch is defective.
OK, so took the car on its longest run TD today, 90mins each way.
Tested as follows: As to the P2404, if you get to highway speed and set cruise, does it hold? YES
If so, if you tap the brake pedal, does it cancel the cruise? YES
If both work, then the code is baloney. OK cool, that's a relief then, will just move on and not give it further concern as drives as it should and without fault.
Many thanks to all that have posted here, much appreciated.

If you have an automatic then most likely your brake light switch is defective and it could be intermittent. You can try testing to see if the brake lights light up when you tap the brake pedal. The symptoms mentioned by PizzaGuy and myself are more likely to present themselves when you have an actual BAS/ESP light.
The brake light switch is cheap and easy to change.
