To Debadge or not - that is the question
Debadged my 2004 Blaze Red Couple. "Holly Glue Batman" Using Dental Floss, took about 1 min to take the letters off. Than the fun began. Making a mess with Goo Gone and Swirl Remover. I thought I had it. BUT, in the sunlight, it quite a bit of ghosting. I cannot see the outline of the letters but quite a bit of haze where the letters were. I guess I will keep trying. Getting a porter cable polisher, I hope that works.
I think the badges have one fatal flaw, when you wash or wax the car you get little pieces of material stuck under the letters. Pulling them out is easy but takes a little time. When my RX7 is repainted I'am going to have the badges airbrushed on. This way they will be under the clearcoat and I will never have to deal with any strings, lint etc getting under the badge.
I personally hate the name of our car, and can't wait to debadge mine. I just think that cars generally look better without any writing on them, especially when its as large as the writing on our's. I think I'll do mine tommorow when I change my oil. I wish I could get the chrysler emblems off too.
