Default Warranty Question

I recently took my car into the dealer for some warranty work. When they were done with my car, they gave me a sheet of the problems I had and what they fixed. My problem is that on the sheet it had my warranty expiring on October of 2006. I bought the car in September of 2004, so why wouldn’t the three year warranty go until 2007? I am really confused about this, so hopefully someone can shed some light on the issue and how I can get the date corrected.

Maybe just a typo. What did they say when you asked them about it?

I just got it today, so I haven’t called yet. I didn't know if the warranty started when the car was first put on the lot or something. I figured I would ask the forum before I asked the dealer incase it was a stupid question. This is my first new car so I am naive in some of the areas.

the warranty starts from the date you paid for the car and took delivery, NOT from when the car hit the lot... <Daimler Chrysler Certified Sales Professional.

its probably just a typo.

Call Chrysler And Ask Them About The Delivery Date Of Your Vehicle. The Warranty Should Start As Soon As You Take Delivery.

Unless it was previously registered. If you are the 1st owner, then this is a true statement. If the car had plates on it when you bought it, then the dealer may have registered the vehicle and effected the "in service" date.

Good Luck either way!

I bought it new (off of the showroom floor) with 134 miles on it. I told them about the misprint and they are looking into the problem. Hopefully it really was just a typo!!!

Subject to being wrong, I seem to remember seeing someplace (maybe on this board) that after a dealer had a 2004 Crossfire in inventory for a certain period of time the car would be placed in service for warranty purposes. However, I may be remembering incorrectly. Good luck with your warranty situation.

if your car had 134 miles on it, then you have 36,134 miles of full warranty OR 3 years from original date of delivery (actually the date you paid for it and it was registered as sold to daimler chrysler, some ppl buy cars then wait a month to pick them up) <why? i don't know. So its a typo...you have 3 years mate.

Thanks for all of the great information. I still haven't heard back from the dealer but I am sure it will be a typo issue. I love these boards because you always get such great information from the members. Thanks again!!
