Default Spoiler Deployment @ 40mph!

has anyone experienced their spoiler deploying at this lower speed of 45 mph???

it happened today... actually this morning, temp was 31 degrees (not so cold)... i warmed the engine up and 5 minutes into our run, the spoiler popped open at 40 mph... maybe even 43.5 mph... by time i got to looking at the speedometer it was 40...

are you sure you didn't nudge the button while pressing the seat heater, or while shifting? did the spoiler go back down automatically when you dipped below 40 mph, or did it stay up? of course its possible it was some random computer glitch --

absolutely not manually deployed... the spoiler retracted 2 minutes later at the next red light...

hasn't happened again...

thanks

Now don't scare me - that darn computer has control of the brakes, throttle and gears in my car!

(Only thing more scary is a computer glitch on the fancy computer steering they (car developers) are developing, think BMW have a system that steers to correct a slide)!

talk about computer control, i think we are closer to seeing a real life CHRISTINE (steven king movie)... hehehehe

my wife gets squeezed by the passenger side belt... AND MY FOOT ISN'T EVEN ON THE BRAKE! she can detach the buckle but i have to shut the XF down and restart it to get the BELT loose again!

My spoiler doesn't deploy until 63 mph, which I actually like b/c I don't want to wear out the motor in the wing, and I know I am always going over 40 mph.

It does make you wonder how many $ it will cost to fix this stuff down the road long after the warranty expires...

Does anyone know of any replacement spoilers out there that are "out" full time and look like they belong "out" ???

Mine has been known to have a few hiccups with the spoiler. When my battery was having problems it would go up after I started the engine. Sometimes it would go up or down at all kinds of speeds. Now that the battery voltage is steady it seems back to normal. These cars are very dependent on a good strong battery.

Maybe, due to the fact that the rear spoiler must deploy at speed over 63 miles per hour, it has something to do with low voltage. Think about it, if the computer senses the charging system is not supplying enough current to open the spoiler, and red alert sounds inside the computers brain, the computer may react in such away to save your life by rerouting all available extra voltage to the rear spoiler motor and deploy the spoiler whilst there is enough voltage in the system to accomplish the task. There by saving your life. What do you think? hooah

What a great group! Fortunately (or unfortunately...) I remember Hal.
However, can anyone tell me where the D#$% IAT connection is?

I recently received a Tri-Phase (interrupter) module and need to be sure of the proper connection... Help!

I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem i am having. The spoiler goes up but will not come down unless I open and same the trunk lid, I can then hit the button and it goes down.
I have been to the dealer 4 times.
