Just needed to up date my car info. Also anyone else confirmed if they are able to attend? As far as the hotel goes, it looks like 9 people have registered, so only one more person needs to register for the group to get the discount, right?

 

I didn't know they had 2007 model Roadsters! I too will be in town that weekend but unfortunately I will not have my car with me. Flying up there to attend a wedding that weekend. Would love to get a pic of all the XF though! Where exactly is everybody meeting at the event?

 

hmmm sisters wedding or woodward ... i wish i didn't cancel the hotel reservations, how could she pick her wedding to be the week of woodward.

 

As far as meeting place goes, one hasn't been decided on for sure. Then again I just could have missed that conversation. Be sure to check back in and I am sure it will get decided upon.

As far as going to a wedding or woodward, I think everyone here would vote woodward, but you got to do what you got to do sometimes. So crossfire6412, I will see you at woodward, just kidding.

MrQue05 - if you're in town, try to make an appearance if at all possible.

It is my understanding that we are going to meet at the Hotel - The Courtyard at Auburn Hills (1296 Opydyke Rd. Auburn Hills, MI 48326). Once we meet up, we will then attend the cruise.
We can get more organized once it gets closer. Locals - I'm going to need your help and advice with that.

 

RPM, Please plan on me and my wife - KCKey12 (Black '06 Roadster) and my brother-in-law/sister - CabinIsle1 (Saphire Silver Blue '07 Roadster). We will not need hotel rooms.

Also, we've been to Woodward before and have found parking in Birmingham (just behind the store fronts). There is usually a guy at the lots selling spaces for ~ $10-$20. Also, does anyone know any city officials along the route? The side streets are often held for club-parking, like the Cobra Club or the old Pontiac Club - how do they get those reservations?

Looks like the cities allow for pre-registrations of clubs (by May 19th for Birmingham...). Then they have a lottery to draw parking spots.

 

I will do what I can to help out for the cruise day. Just let me know what help you need and I will start to do what I can.

Best laid plans go astray. After shifting around the dates several times, I will be in Brazil for three weeks and will miss the cruise. I'm not broken-hearted because it will be easier to get to Detroit another time than to get my company to pay for another boondoggle in South America. Enjoy yourselves.

RPM,

I know we have some time to go before the event, but do we have any plans for meeting and such?

I'm going to try and make it early on Friday as i hear some are planning a trip to the Chrysler Museum, i'd love to make that trip.

I thought about us all meeting at the Courtyard, but I don't think that's going to fly (c/o parking, etc.).

I guess we should have a meeting place for the people going on Friday (probably in the evening), and another meeting place for the people going on Saturday (in the morning).

fuzz 40 or other locals - your input/advice would be great (thanks in advance).

 

RPM, I have an idea about finding meeting places for the WDC. If you are available sometime in July, we can take a scenic (rural) drive down Dixie Highway to Waterford, pick-up CabinIsle1, then do a pre-cruise of Woodward scoping out meeting places.?. Locals can join us too - as they may know some prime spots.?. Just let me know what day works best for you guys.

For the actual cruise, my thoughts are that we go somewhere in Bloomington Hills/Birmingham for Friday night, as it looks to be an easy drive for non-locals, from the hotel, to go just South on Opdyke Road to the Woodward intersection. Then South on Woodward to a restaurant (with a large parking area). It would also give folks an opportunity to do a pre-run to Woodward on Friday.

Then Saturday will be a lot more complicated, I think we can find an off-route meeting spot for the morning (maybe on the North-end of the general Woodward area), but during the day, I don't think we'll find parking for this size group anywhere near Woodward.
From the Northern-off-route spot, we might want to do an up & down cruise that morning, then re-group somewhere off-route (maybe Royal Oak, for lunch??), then try another cruise in the afternoon?? People will get separated that day - so we'll need to share some cell-phone numbers to stay in touch. We tried the hand-held walkie-talkies one year, but ran into a lot of interference - so cell's might work better??
