Kasketfiller-welcome to WWDC!
I'm leaving it to Gary to update the list as he's been doing an excellent job of it
The top of the forum page had a message that I hadn't posted on the fourms in several weeks ???
I'm impressed, several weeks and no coments/input. This is my attempt at "engaging in a conversation". This being nice is exhausting. I need a beer.

Keeping this thread alive......

Everything you need to know for WDC 2008.......

This is the official website Woodward Dream Cruise

Our parking spot this year is next to the Chrysler Exhibit at mile 13 and Woodward for $25 per car.
It is at the Northwood Shopping Center parking lot in Royal Oak , Mi. This is a excellent location.
Rapp's has us down for between 20-30 spots with the availability of up to 50.
Fun in the sun, TV crews, meeting members from the forum, having thousands of people checking our Crossfires, food and drink

This is our basic outline of activity for the Woodward Dream Cruise 2008 (revised from 2007 WDC meet)
This is only a basic outline of the time line ........

Friday
Some may want to meet at the hotel around noon and go 2 miles to the Chrysler Museum.
Others arriving later can meet up at the hotel and check in etc.
Maybe try to cruise Woodward ave.with our Crossfire convoy.
Then eventually we all go to dinner somewhere as a group.
After dinner return to the hotel for some tailgating.

Saturday
9 am - 10 am- Breakfast at the hotel
10 am - 11:30 am- Cruise Woodward ave.to Royal Oak
11:30 am- Meet and park at the mile 13 lot on Woodward ave.in Royal Oak.
11:30 am - 4:30 pm: Check out the cars, further discussions, wander around looking at other cars, etc.
4:30 pm- Drive to the Restaurant/Bar where we will have reservations.

5:30 pm - ??- Dinner/Drinks, etc. and back to hotel for more visiting etc.

Sunday -
Most have their own plans. Some head back home etc.

Just my 2 cents........maybe this year we could get a little earlier start and get the group photo right after we arrive at the lot! That will leave a little more time for cruising, as well as assuring that everyone can be a part of the photo (+fireamx)!

Depending on where we are in relation to the Chrysler exhibit.....they can probably be persuaded to let one of us on top of a trailer to get a better vantage point for the photo's!

BTW.....what's our "confirmed" number now Gary?

EDIT: I almost forgot.......it might be best if the beers stayed at the hotel due to the fact that the local police agencies use the southwest corner of the lot as a staging area......Ultimately it's a personal decision.....just thought I'd inform though!

I didn't say NO beer......I just suggested that it's something you may want to think about. If you're alright with drinking in public in front of a whole group of michigan's finest.......by all means bottoms up!

Maybe if you put it in the cupholder when the law goes by they'll have sympathy for you!

~~The first year of the Dream Cruise I was ticketed by a Royal Oak police officer for having a bottle in a paper bag. I was less than happy, but then realized it was a "Joke" ticket, no kidding printed by the City of Royal Oak for the Dream Cruise. There isn't any more joking by the police about drinking. We had walked so driving wasn't an issue, but in any event it would be a real ticket now.
~~Our group wil have ONE parking space to divide us from the Chrysler Exhibit. In the public's mind we are part of the Chrysler Exhibit unless their trailer's back is to us. With in a few spaces (if we keep growing in head count) will be the Rock radio station WCZX and the other side of us is the Grand Nationals, gas race cars about the size of a very large shoe box. People come and go sitting in the little grandstand watching the cars race. I know we will keep our car locked, alarm on even with the top down. There are all kinds of people who attend with various levels of hygine and manners. I know most of the cars shown are locked windows up or the owner is standing there watching with polishing cloth in hand. We can, as a group, watch each others cars.
~~FP (and anyone else who has one) you will need stands for the banner.
~~ Any large intake of drink may not be in your own best interests. There isn't a bathroom provided with this site. We may spend up to 3-5 hours there. Would you want me to see if a local business wants to work out a deal for use of their restroom? I haven't any idea what the going rate is for toilet rental. But at an additional $5.00 per car some business could make money and we would have a clean place within walking distance. It is pretty easy for us to go west on 13 mile road, advoiding the knott of cars on Woodward, to get to a place where you could use a restroom which would be clean and hadn't had thousnads of people going through it that day. Getting the car out of the lot to do this might prove to be a big hassel.
~~Post your feed back here or PM RPM/Ryan as he has been the "clearing house" of all knowledge.

If we are at a shopping mall I would think there would be a retail location we could use for a restroom.
Even if it was limited to our group and we provided some sort of Crossfire ID and compensated them $$.
I personally don't plan on moving my car once in position at the spot on Woodward until we are all leaving.
Just a suggestion. Gary

Actually there will be a whole row (about 25) of port-a-potties about a hundred yards away.....they are always on the south end of the lot.

Not the cleanest thing, I know, but better than nothing!

I am most likely not going to need a restroom during our time there but for the others this was just a suggestion. Gary

Why, there's no bushes or trees in the area?

Hey Gary, et al. (Woodward 'Single' Attendees)

If I fly into Chi-Town or Detroit, for this Meet, who could I share a ride with & Gas & Lodging?

Any takers?

My Best!

Bill,
It would be great if you attend our meet at Woodward !!
I believe my wife will be riding up with me on Friday August 15.
I would imagine your best bet would be to fly directly into Detroit on Friday August 15
I am certain there are many locals in Michigan that would be able to meet you at the airport
and bring you to the hotel in Auburn Hills.
It is approx. 30 miles between Detroit and the Courtyard Marriott Auburn Hills.
Most will be staying at the hotel and some locals will be at home.
I'm sure we have some single drivers that would be able to give you a ride throughout the weekend as we go to the cruise and dinner etc.

Anyone solo drivers in the Detroit (or Chicago) area able to help here ??
