Fri 3:00 PM Hook-up @ the Fontana Village (FV) Wildwood Grill Restaurant Parking lot. (There were 50 Mini-coopers in it Sat afternoon).

Fri 4:00 PM "Free time" or R/T Pre-Run of the Dragon, dark at 5:45 pm (Time change).

Fri, Also Ice Cream, Hot Dogs, Draft Brew & Sodas, etc at the FV Ice Cream Shop or "Hellbender Pitstop" at Gas Station, for a PM Snack/Brew.

Fri 6:30 PM Drinks at the Wildwood Grill Bar (Lots Beer & Wine to go at FV Grocery Store, or FV Gas Station, open almost all hours, if funds are limited).

Fri 7:30 PM Dinner at the FV Wildwood Grill (Mid $) (open Noon to 10 PM).


Saturday Nov 10th (the U.S. Marine Corps Birthday "Semper Fi").

Sat 8:30 AM Breakfast at the Fontana Village (FV) Mountain Bistro (10 min from the 10:00 AM Dam Meet).

Sat 10:00 AM Meet & Greet at the Fontana Dam Vistors' Center - Parking lot in front of the Overlook Gift Shop {1.2 miles off Hwy 28 at Fontana Dam turnoff, the turnoff is 1.8 miles SE (Right Turn) from FV on Hwy 28, 3.0 total mi from FV to parking lot} (will probably last until 11:30 AM, so running late is OK).

Sat 11:00 AM (2) "Special Surprise" Guests & Photo Ops at Fontana DAM.

Sat 1:00 PM "The Big Loop Run" (116 mi, 2.5 - 3.5 Hr) Cherohala Skyway (5,200+ ft, 45 Mph - 18 mi in NC/40 Mph - 24 mi in TN)/Tail of the Dragon (318 Curves in 11 mi) Big Loop Run Robbinsville back to Fontana Village.

I will be their Saturday @ the Dam, looking forward to meeting you all.

 

We are leaving thursday for Gatlinburg, staying there until Sat. morning and then joining all at the dam. The saturday schedule sounds great, eveyone will love the scenery and roads. Its kind of weird for me because last year I was there for the Porsche run, and this year they are having their weekend just like us. I'll have a hard time explaining why I changed ship, so to say. But WTH, we all love cars and great roads. Drive safe, and don't have a flat!!!

i think i will make the 3 pm meet on friday the radar detector will be on.

 

Hope I am still asleep at that time, but we are a little closer. 6 maybe 7 hrs out, depends on traffic and other stops, and my getting lost. "Toy" and his wife are coming by this way and we will run from here up. Really looking forward to trip and seeing everyone. I getting old, it is starting to get hard to remember all the sign-on names here, I may have to take notes.

BTW All: There is a Free Car Wash area w/hose, with about 6-8 parking spots at the Fontana Village right across from the Wildwood Restaurant parking lot, where we will be meeting Friday PM.
