Woodward Dream Cruise / Crossfire Concept Car Showing - August 20, 21 - 2010
Add me to the list Zlah01 (Larry Howell) I have made reservations for Friday night only. I grew up racing on Woodward Ave From Highland Park (Ted's drive inn to Pontiac with 8 mile road as a side drive.) I own a 2006 limited convertible and have been trying to make this run every since I got it.

Made my reservations for Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the King bed and sofa.
I could change that.
I snore (really bad) but if you can stand it I'll convert the room to a double.
I will not be there until very late Thursday so let me know your plans.
Assuming, of course, you dont mind a crabby old Indian for company???

OK, OK, OK. I got talked into coming to the Dream Cruise this year.
What do I need to sign up for as far as dinner on Friday? Saturday?
Parking Saturday?
What time are folks getting to the museum on Friday?
And what's the word on the go-carts?

#1 - Have Valky put you on the list
#2 - Reserve your room
#3 - Get to Detroit Thurs or Fri.
You will have a blast.
Ok, here's how it looks with a little over a month to go:
THURS - Early XFire arrivals can cruise Woodward and meet for an informal dinner at a TBD location. Somewhere on Woodward (Duggan's, Como's) or in Royal Oak would be good. Any requests? I'm happy to make the reservations.
FRI - A lot of folks are coming in early to see the concept car (Ray -again, GREAT job man!) at the museum, so maybe a lunch and then meet at the Chrysler museum from 2-4. Once I get a headcount, I can set up a tour with the museum staff.
Then; meet/greet/tailgate at the hotel lot until about 6 when we drive over to The Red Ox for dinner.
Go cart racing, Woodward cruising or hotel lot after that.
Note: Cart racing could also go before dinner. Rob-Can you handle details for this event?
Also, my driveway detail area (approx 10 mins from hotel) is open for out-of-towners who want to clean up their cars anytime Thurs/Fri and early Sat a.m.
SAT - Meet at hotel lot around 8:30 for a 9:00 departure time to the display area at 13/Woodward. Everyone is on their own for Dream Cruise activities, lunch, etc...
Dinner is at 5:30 at the Moose Preserve (I'm still working to push this time back a little). After dinner, either back to the hotel pkg lot or cruise Woodward until they close it (usually at 9).
SUN - Open activities (photos, BSing in the pkg lot, etc...) as most depart. Some (including me) are headed up to Mackinac Island for a northern Michigan tour. Judi (MsGump) is handling the details.
We're sharing a free, shaded spot with the Prowler group at a location sponsored by Chrysler. The link to the Prowler club's activities is: 16th ANNUAL WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE 2010 ACTIVITIES AND ITINERARY - ProwlerOnline, Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler Discussion Forum
The agenda is coming together nicely, but still tentative, and therefore easily adaptable to further input. Give me your thoughts.
Gary - Both Fri & Sat nite dinner locations will have reserved parking for our group & reader board welcome. Let me know if you want to bring any CICCI banners for display at the restaurants.
All - Be advised that Squirrel Rd has major construction going on from University Rd to the Chrysler HQ, for those of you that use that route.
yes dinner thurs will be great. i no its not the best place but what about bw3 off of nine mile road, or an even better ideal would be mongolian bbq. mongolian has a deck that im sure we can have reserved for us.. what do u guys think about that ideal for a thursday night around 6pm..
also go cart is going to be a blast im looking frd to doing that friday.

for the go-carts, we have at least 2 options, the main go-cart place is strictly go-carts and usually runs $25 for 2x 8 minute sessions. Go Kart, Racing, League racing, Indoor Go Kart Track, Bachelor Parties, Kid Karts | Kart 2 Kart
if we have enough interest in that we woudl want to make reservations. there is another place a few miles further away that has a few go-cart tracks, putt putt and a bunch of other outdoor and indoor activities. Attractions
they even have car-shows on thursday if there si enough people in town by then.
im leaning toward the second place (cj barrymores) friday after dinner, or we could have dinner there but i dont want to booger up the plans for the place in royal oak that we have been going to. for the cart and other activities we wouldnt need reservations, have lots of stuff to do, short lines and even have a bar. the issue is that it is about a 15 minute ride east from the hotel. but its a straight shot down m59 so i doubt anyone would get lost on the trip to/from.
let me knwo which everyone prefers. if kart2kart then ill have to make reservations.
does anyone knwo if the golf dome complex just north fo the hotel off i75 (just south of great lakes crossing) has carts also? if so that is much much closer to the hotel but its a bit far away from our place so im not very familiar with it.
