I've been laying low on even mentioning this but I may not even get to be there next weekend either.
I had a knee surgery on the 16th and found out on the 22nd I had an internal bleed which caused significant swelling to develop leaving me still needing crutches
I won't know til the day I plan to leave (Thursday) if I will be leaving or not.
Well, we'll just have to pray you into being on the Dragon. Let's see what God will do. Don't give up just yet.. Jeremiah 32:27

We are in the process of canceling our reservations. I won't run the dragon in car that I cannot trust. The local mechanic read the codes and they made no sense. The consensus was that it might have been bad gas or perhaps just water somewhere. Their suggestion was to drive it some and if nothing bad happened just go ahead and go on our way. Did not make me feel to good but what you gonna do. It started and we drove it straight to the hotel. 20 minutes later we try to start it and it wouldn't. Had it towed back to the Chrysler dealer. Kind of out of options here. Called them and told them to get the CSP and the central contoller on order. Tomorrow we find out how long it will take to get these parts. Might wait for them or might fly home tomorrow. We'll see.
Well did cancel at the lodge so for all you vultures out there, time to get a better room. We had a King in the lodge. Think a kind thought of me when you swoop in and get it.
Becklely is nice and has some great roads but it is just not the same when rolling around in a 4 door Chevy crap box.

They didn't look at the Relay Control Module....look for things not soldered or burned.... Al, if that is the problem, it's an easy fix, and you would be fine...I understand your frustration...but, if you arrive with all us "shade trees", you would get repaired, one way or another...

Today was beautiful. The Dragon wasn't too bad going up towards the Parkway as we headed to Cades Cove for the late morning/afternoon. We come across a tractor trailer with a sheriff's escort...slowed us down a bit, but at least it wasn't an accident.
Cades Cove is a great place for a drive, but wished we had the time to park and hike a couple of trails. We did see a number of wild turkey's, a young buck near one of the old churches, and a black bear mama and her cub up in a tree munching on some nuts from the looks of it. Would be a spectacular place to see when the leaves are in full color change.
The drive back down the Dragon was going okay until I hear a sheriff's siren behind me. Nope, not me this time. We pulled off before he got on our tail and he went zooming by. Yep, there was an accident a couple of miles from the end with a motorcyclist laying in the ditch going the other way. Looked like he came out of the curve too wide/fast. He was putting his head up, but not moving much otherwise.
So besides the turkey's (animal) running about, be watchful of the hunters dog's. We came across one on Hellbender only to find out at the store at Deals Gap that it was one of hunters dogs hunting up 129.
Tomorrow we go off and see what Devils Triangle is all about...wish us luck.

I just put new heads on the 17th, and a lifter knock made me break it back down last-night changing 3 lifters based off slop and wear patterns. The noise is not gone but too bad! We ship out tomorrow.

We are leaving tomorrow afternoon from Dallas and hope to get to Little Rock. Thursday morning we might check out the Clinton Library. I heard it is a big double wide trailor overlooking a river. there is supposed to be an exact replica of the Oval Office. I wonder if there will be any cigars on the desk or a stained dress on display? I picked up some local brew tonight, Shiner Bock and Ugly Pug. The V8 has never been this far from home. I went by Discount tires and was going to freshen up the rear rubber but they refused to install tires on my car because I have wheel spacers. The guy also pissed me off telling me that I was tryinng to buy the wrong tires and that my car had 19 inch wheels. I told him to go out and check my car if he didn't believe I was running 18 inch wheels. I may try to get tires in the morning somewhere else, but the ones I have should make the trip fine as long as I we aren't planning a smokey burn out contest.
