I was actually up at VC for the chili cook off this weekend competing for the Cobb Mansion as they did not have time to compete themselves. I happen to bump into the event director of Virginia City who I paled around with during the Governors ball last year and he introduced me to the marketing manager of the Silverland Hotel.

I will be contacting him this week to go over the whole event. He wanted to make sure that we will have special parking and was hoping we might all want to show of the cars. I will go over the details with him and see what all he has in mind and then run it by you guys. I think he also was eluding to if we get at least 20 he can get us a really good deal. So here is to hoping we can swing that!

Just wanted to check in to see who has already booked a room.

I had a member contact me today and say that when they booked they were told no one else had. But I know I have booked and have been told by others that they have booked. I just want to make sure there is not some problem going on with our room discount.

If you do not mind pming me if you have or have not booked that would be great! in talks right now with where our special parking is going to be.

 

I am booked from monday evening through friday evening. Weird they would say otherwise. They are giving me the $89 a night rate for tues and wed nights.

 

Just to update it looks like the lady was new and did not know how to read the booking system correctly.

12 have said they are attending (so far) and I think 5-6 have got a room reserved.

My goal is 20 but 12 is not to bad!

 

We just reserved our room this evening....sorry it took so long, I just need to get some tires between now and August and we'll be set!

 

No worries! Glad you two are going to make it! I am coming up on needing new tires as well. I have been shopping around trying to decide what to get this time around.

This last time I had BF Goodrich g-force tires and they worked out really great. I was actually thinking about getting the Michelin pilot ps2s or super sports this next time around. Only $100-$200 more than I spent last time and rater much higher.

My only problem is they do not have one of my tire sizes. I am going to see about maybe dropping a tiny bit of height in the front. My only other option would be super sports on the rear and ps2s on the front.

I do not think it would cause any problems. The super sports are taking the place of the ps2s and the tread pattern is really really close. Hopefully by the time the fronts wore out the super sports would have that size being manufactured.

Just wanted to clarify for everyone the reason I was having problems finding the super sports to fit my wheels are because I have 19/20 staggered in lieu of 18/19. If I had it to do over I would have ordered 18/19 in the same wheels.

 

I do like the looks of the hankooks, and the price does look good. Right now I have coopers on my SRT6, they came with the car when I bought it almost 3 years ago, I'm not sure how many miles are on them but I really don't have any complaints, they look good and they handled very well.

 

WE are planning on going to this, about 90% yes we are going, looking forward to the trip with other xf owner coming and going, and meeting all others in reno. Danny and Sonia
