just took the curviest road we have in irmo its making me anxious for the dragon!!

 

Just wanted everyone to know,


I'm coming to the Spring Dragon meet, so if you would like to see my Aero Blue SRT-6 in person, please call me to make sure we can meet up. I'm staying in Pigeon Forge at a friend's condo from Thurs thru Sunday, so I'll be driving down for a afternoon or two, maybe for a run or just to hang out. I really dont want to sell the car, it is just so much fun, but it's time I think.

Would love to get a few forum member to look at the car to relay their opinion of the car's condition (excellent) to any other buyers that might be interested that can't come down in person.



I'm looking at trading or selling the car outright and moving into a nice coupe or sedan. Something with character but more comfortable.

Also, car is at 42K now, will have slightly more from the trip but worth it.

Well its been nothing but rain all day today here in Apex NC, had to give the car a wash in the rain then in the garage for drying and wax. I think it going to be wet again tomorrow morning so all the cleaning may be wasted. Hopefully it will dry out on the way to Fontana. Expect to be there sometime early afternoon.
Hope the folks that arrived today dont get too wet, i expect the roads are very slick so be careful.

Well I've arrived and so have two SRT's from South Carolina. I can't for the life of me figure out who they are.

 

Nick have you got a driving plan for tomorrow or is rain in the morning forcast? Howard is a no show for tomorrow and undecided for the weekend. I will make a decision about when I am going to leave dependant on the weather.

 

nicks plan is as follows. drink heavily the night before, get up late and drive fast turning left and right hopefully the same way the road turns

 

I do have a run planned. Moonshiners. Let me know if you aren't going to make it.

It is with great sadness that I have to say My wife and I wilol not be coming. I have been sick all week, and thoujght I was feeling better, but its reared its ugly head again. High fever. I was looking forward to meeting everyone with these awesome cars. Im not sure if its possible, but we of course will loose our deposit, and wondering if anyone can use that room Its paid for for the fist day. Thru deposit of course. We were staying a the Fontana Inn. Its under Dave Martin. Believe me Im bummed. Anyway., I hope to meet many of you thruout the summer. I will of course, be watching fo the fall Tail of the Dragon

just checked the forecast for tomorrow it looks like there isnt going to be any rain just a little fog!!

 

About 15 of us are here ( people, that is, maybe 12 cars)....

We meet at the fireplace in the lobby at 10AM - hoping the weather will have cleared by then.

 

I returned Monday from an 8 day cruise and brought back an upper respiratory infection
I'm on antibiotics now and I am in no condition to travel so i will not be able to attend this weekend.
I'm hoping that the regulars can take charge and show the newbies the runs etc.

CICCI has rented the Chestnut room for Friday Saturday and Sunday nights (where we held the BBQ in the past)
This is where our group is to gather in the evenings after dinner.
Groups are no longer allowed to gather and consume outside alcohol in the lodge lobby or anywhere outside of the Bears Den Lounge.
It is in violation of the new Fontana Village Liquor License agreement so please comply with these new rules.
I was informed of this at the conclusion of the meet last fall in order to make these new arrangements for the group.

I have a deposit on a 2 queen room in the lodge for Friday and Saturday so if ya still need a room send me a PM and I'll contact the staff and make the necessary changes with the reservation.

I'm gonna miss seeing old friends and meeting many new ones but I'll be back in the Fall - October 4,5,6

OK , this not good , Gary get feeling better, us old timers will just half to step in and get everybody going , will be into Fontana about noon time today so will pass the word to everybody , and then some maps past out for sat.

 

Nick I will be leaving about 7:30 put me there around10:30 or so. Don't wait on me if your group is ready to go earlier than that.

 

LOL third time at the Dragon, me and two other adventurers got pulled over about 20 minutes into our first run...

They already know the crossfires are coming, and they think our cars are much more expensive than they are so watch out

I'm really missing the Dragon this spring.

Gotta get the construction done down at the ranch. Hopefully things are less complicated this fall.
