thanx jim. doubt ill make it. im taking it to buckhead imports monday so jason can use the latest autologic software to try to diagnose the probem. he is slammed with work so it may take a few days and i cant pick the car up until the weekend. ill be there in the fall . are you going to race that monster at the clayton 1/2 mile this yr? registration is april 5!

Temps have shot to the 70s! My car wash is open again (you know, the one in my garage!) The car is washed and stripped and clayed and waxed and the rims have been cleaned and the trim and weatherstrips have all been treated. Tonight, I will treat the top and let it bake in the sun tomorrow (its not gonna rain tomorrow, is it?) and then Im pretty much ready for the Spring Dragon!

88,000 miles, 8 years old, a bunch of stone chips ... but she still waxes up real nice!

Well, it looks like I just might be able to attend this coming weekend. I currently have reservations in Robbinsville at the Microtel Inn @ 63.71 per night. The room has a Coffee maker and WIFI. I will be calling The Lodge to see if they have any cancellations and will give a better rate than $200 and up a night. Otherwise I do not mind an 18 mile drive to have a coffee maker, wifi, and a free Continental breakfast. I have a closing on Friday but the unit is not complete and the future owner has no intention on moving in for a few months!!! YEAH, I get to go WHEEEE with the rest of you!!!!!!

 

You won't be alone, I think several GenCoupes and at least one other XF will be there!
It's fast approaching, kids! Of course, my Hooters girl cancelled on me again... but it'll be a fun weekend anyway!

Easley some will arrive Thursday. Howard Carter and I are planning on meeting for breakfast at the lodge at around 9 and see if Nick has planned a Friday run. Most will come in during the day Friday and Friday night. Join us for breakfast if you like.

You should stay Saturday night if you can as that will be the best opportunity to meet people who were not in your driving groupe and swap stories of the days drive and past Dragon lore.

Yea, a few of us will be there THursday before 6pm - and most leave Sunday between 6am and 3 pm!

Saturday night is the big social event - totally worth being there for it!

We might be able to roll a cot into my room for you - Nick and I are sharing a room (cause we both are horrible with money, I guess!)
There are rooms in Robbinsville, only 25minutes away!

 

I actually and rooming with ibedoughboy and he said that I'm welcome to stay Saturday night so I might just leave early Sunday! and I think I might get there around 10 so I guess I'll wander till I find some of you guys!

 

Just show up at the Grill for lunch around 11 or so... I'll show up about 11 to 11:30.

Remember everyone - bring an FRS radio! Totally more fun and easier to coordinate with an FRS radio. ANY radio will do, Best Buy/Radio Shack/WalMart just get extra batteries as they are expensive at the Gap!

Thursday night dinner for all that want to join is at the grill starting at 6:30 EST. I'll be there and so will Mark and Ibedoughboy. Even if your late come join us anyway, we're happy to sit around and talk to you while you stuff your faces

Friday I will be leading a group through the moon shiners run with lunch still to be determined. Jim and Howard we will be waiting for y'all to arrive before having breakfast and or second breakfast then we'll leave after that.

Saturday is a quick shot to Deals Gap and through the Dragon and coming back through the Skyway. Sorry guys no triangle this trip. I would like to remind everyone that this is the more aggressive group, but it's certainly not by invitation only. You'll know by the end of the Dragon if you want to hang with us. If you don't I will give you directions to the other groups lunch spot and you can meet up with them. This event is all about fellowship and having fun and if you're not please let me or someone else know so that we can do what we can to make sure you do.

Also first timers bringing guests make sure you pick up some Dramamine and take it an hour before setting off. Even if they don't think they'll get car sick it. Better to have it than losing last nights dinner and that mornings breakfast again and again.

We are bummed we can not be there, but know you all will have an absolute blast. Nick is an amazing driver and a great leader to try and follow. If you prefer aggressive driving, go with that group, even if only at the end, you will not regret it.

 

well dropped the car off at atl on monday. havent heard anything yet but its doubtful ill get to go. shop had about 10 cars that needed work. see everyone at clayton or in the fall

 

TRUTH! I have NEVER been sick in a car, helicopter or small plane, NEVER.
I can keep up with about 90% of us on the Dragon, I even made a lady sick on Blood Mountain (with my DRIVING, smart asses!) and yet.............

One ride with Nick and I was ready to launch breakfast before we even got to the overlook.

Dramamine is available at the general store at Fontana, but I'm sure it's cheaper everywhere else!
