I just looked at the photo's of Nick's car. For some reason I only remember seeing the rear view of that 55 and using better than 1/2 a tank of gas one way on the skyway.

 

I went for a ride with him, why no pics of ME with him? (Or was that in the Spring?)

We are down to five weeks, and my car is on the alignment rack as I speak - the front end is "well out of specs..."

 

That was one of the best runs I've ever had up there. I was feeling like crap all weekend except for that Saturday. You and I hit a groove on 314 (I think) leading to the skyway entrance and we never saw anyone in our group until we stopped for 15 minutes.

Mark, you and I went for a ride the next day. It was last spring though. I didn't drive any this past Fall dragon.

 

Just booked my rooms at the lodge for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. For anyone who hasn't booked yet they still gave me the Crossfire group rate so you can still reserve at the discounted rate. My brother will be riding along this time instead of my better half. See you all there!

 

Tail o the Dragon is coming SOON! It will be great to drive it....after winter

 

It is starting to look like I'm going to end up cancelling part of the Dragon weekend, instead of heading up Thursday, I'll be headed up later on the day Friday and heading home Sunday afternoon. Got a project I cannot be absent from, so all I will do is take off Friday this spring, or maybe just PART of Friday - I'll probably be in Oklahoma both the week of and the week after the Dragon.

This means I'll fly home friday and drive up friday evening, then bug out Sunday afternoon - as late in the day as I can.

I sure am glad I live so close!

 

Why did I manage to read that as "Free shipping" from another member going to the Dragon?

We will definately have to plan to get together afterwards.. maybe next week we can hook up at Twin Peaks again..

 

Hey Gary put me down, just booked my room. Late i know, but i couldn't miss it after the fun i had last fall.
Looking forward to seeing you all again, i should be arriving midday Friday and leaving Sunday morning.

Wow, That was some driving! I wonder what the bikers had to say about their shadow.
I will have to do this someday. I always wanted to drive the Nurbergring and got the chance last year. It has been a dream of mine since my teenage years and finally got to do it with my wife in a rented Mazda 4 door. I did get to pass 1 car and never went off the road.
So the Tail of the Dragon is next on my list. I hope that I don't run out of time or ability. (Age - 73)

I'm 52 and they were older than me. When I pulled up at the Gap and they took their helmets off, I expected to meet two kids - turns out those guys were in their 60's !

We had quite a long talk, they were there for the day, same as me - I'd driven from near Atlanta, they came from Cincinnati, Ohio.

I saw them at least once more that day, we passed going different directions on the Dragon.
I just wish I'd got their email addresses or something - to my knowledge, they've never seen the video.

(I'm unsure they even knew I had the camera running.)

Well I bought a Z4 last week. Not sure which I will drive down. Leaning toward the Bimmer since I can take a set of golf clubs in the trunk.

I have a reservation for a double room. If anyone is looking to split a room let me know.

Hi Gary,
Would you add me and Troy to the list. He wants to bring his folks down this time so we will be staying in a cabin as the lodge is full anyway. I can't find your list of attendee's can you send it to me....have not heard from Harbor's or James and Tammy so don't know if they are going. TJ wants to take his Mom water rafting so he is hoping there will be some other that will join him!
