Yea, if you show up without an FRS radio, know that you will miss out (unless enough of us bring a set and have one to loan).

It really helps when you want to let the leader know it's time for a rest stop (for what ever reason), of course, it's also just part of the social aspect of the weekend - we don't talk constantly on them, but there ARE times when they help. Sometimes, in a faster group, there are things the leader wants to tell the group.

And we always want to check and make sure EVERYONE got thru that light.....

Remember, a set can be had for between $35 and $65 almost everywhere.

LOL, I didn't carry one last dragon. Sometimes I get one from someone else and never turn it on. It's handy to have, but can really become a distraction unless you have a passenger.

First car and last car simply have to have one. And if there are more than 8 cars, somebody in the middle 'cause range is sometime short in those back canyons and draws.

If you don't have one and getseparated or ost, you are on yer own!

Where would you put that radio so it wouldn't go flying and banging all over the car?

Well, being in your group, yes - no time to use the radio unless you have a co-pilot/radio operator.

It fits pretty well between the park brake lever and the consel. But a Hot Blonde does it much better.

You are a lucky man indeed Ray. We tried that once but the Flying Turtle is definately not into it, and I found it almost imposible to drive a tight line with her "screaming we are going to die, we are going to die" and repeatly beating my right shoulder and arm.

Kim showed me to clip it to the seat belt on my left. By the way I have an extra.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work so well on the roadster. But it does help one hear it over the wind noise.

What is hard in the twisties, is running a stick shifter, turning the wheel, and having a conversation on the radio.

That can become freaky scary.

Also, I have no one screaming in the passenger seat... My partner is Claustrophobic..and a Cadillac is about as small a car as we dare ride in together....LOL

Some of us just have it too good, right Ray?

She LOVES the twisties as much as I do and is a great navigator, radio person, eye candy

This is why I have mine wired into the telephone input on the NAV Head - my FRS radio mutes the music and comes out thru the car speakers.

Mine also has an external microphone I drape over my leg - but running curves and talking on the radio? Doesn't happen often - my response over the radio is often delayed.
This is why a passenger is always welcome to ride along with me.

Not so good? that's just scattered showers. You have to expect that here in TN. Mid 70's and wind at 4 to 5 mph. Sounds about perfect. Now if the rain chance goes above 60% we might have problems.
