There is also a time for speed and agility... and tickets.. Hope to be back in the spring, God willing.
Jonathon, a big thank you for leading the creepers Saturday, Highlands was GREAT, and the Cyprus restaurant was a keeper for sure.
I'll join you again next time, and I now know what your avatar is all about ! Say Hi to Murfi for me, and God Bless.......

Clearly a good friend to have if you own one of these redheaded step children with which we all seem afflicted.

Greg, no issues, no engine lights all the way home. Thanks!

Just what I logged in and wanted to see Franc! And thank you so much for sharing your friends with us! I could fill up a page on that..

Read on here enough to get through it when the time comes for mine.. But always game for some hands on experience!

We did have a gencoupe twist.. not as fortunate as the Crossfires! There was a guardrail also that needs a name tagged with spray paint.. When the wound heals we'll let him mention it.. LOL.. Sure would have loved to meet you Doc.. stuff the piggy bank and practice "No I have plans".. and see you at CAA#6!

For those that stopped at Deal's Gap for the first time, here is what it looked like in the past...

What a fantastic meeting , so many new faces and so many smiling faces after the first day. It's so good that everyone felt at home straight away.
I will post a link to my pictures once I have processed them it will take me a few days.
I am also working on the Alpine Coaster video and will post as soon as I can.

It's always sad to leave the lodge and when I look at the empty lounge area, I almost here the echoes of the voices from the night before, so many friends old and new and we all have one thing in common.

Pictures to follow

Glad nearly everyone is home safe and sound

Well. folks...I made it home safe and sound...As I eluded to Gary at the Deals Gap Breakfast, this Dragon is far the best I have attended ( 3rd trip)...it was such a profound feeling to see old friends and especially the new ones...thanks Dustin for sharing the room...it really helped with the cost. I look forward to these meetings, now, more than ever...it's sort of like an "extended family"...it's amazing what this little car can do to "connect" such great people..wouldn't it be grand if such a simple"object" could ease all the hatred and discord in the world...A special thanks to Gary and Evan for putting together such a wonderful event...Grand Kudos!!...,,See you all soon ...Thanks again for such an awarding experience...Carl

BTW. Thanks you Greg for the on the spot analysis of the "oil Leak" I thought I had...LOL...Carl

Lots of reasons we always come back! After this past weekend, I must say, best place to have your Crossfire give you problems, is on a trip to Fontana - some repairs are cheaper there than back home!

OMG..........what a rush! Had no idea what our little crossie could do till we followed a few leaders. Thanks to all of you, we are now hooked. We rode that baby hard and put her up wet when we got home...............since our trip was delayed several hours. We blew a rear tire close to Carthage MO. After a tow into town, and waiting on tires from Springfield (I always replace 2 @ a time - like to keep mileage even), we got home late evening. Total mileage 2,581. P.S. turns out the other rear tire was showing steel belt as well, so good thing we replaced both. Kinda expected this after the Dragon and other runs and long highway miles. But....I did not care....I was still on a high and it was worth every penny!

Thank you Gary for taking us newbies under your wing and then letting us fly. You are a wonderful, thoughtful leader and we appreciated all your help.

You crossie people are a blast and so welcoming.....thought we were at a "family reunion". All your tips were invaluable and much appreciated. Loved meeting you all.

Our next trip will be to Eureka Springs, AR for the CAA in June 2015. We look forward to seeing you all again.

P.S. We ended up with Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 - non-directional tires on rear. Previously had the Pilot Sport Plus - directional. The front tires are the Sport Plus - directional. Is this difference okay? How does it affect driving the car?

Age doesn't matter. I kept up with Pizzaguy and 4 Genesis' and I am 74.
BTW, I need all four new tires.

Totally agree, ewaynec: I'm going on 76 and I'm still trying to keep up with 180...LOL....Age is only a number and if you allow society to pigeonhole you because of a age number, you will be very old in mind and attitude!!!...Carl

Not everyone was at the Dam for the group photo but here are 35 that were
Our total Crossfire count was never established but going by the list I suspect we hit 50 Crossfires
See ya next year

76? Is that a typo?

I was thinking you were 50-something to mid 60's.

You tell us!

Seriously, many run different tires in the front than the rear - temporarily at least. This is nothing new, after several thousand miles, you can tell us what you think. And if it was a bad idea, youd know by now anyway!

I do not think you ran with me, had you gone on my "Sunset Cruise" and kept up, you'd know full well how the car handles with those tires!

I've not run the PS3, but I have been told they are better than the tire they replaced. And I thought the A/S Pilot Sports were pretty freaking awesome.
