I named my SRT6 'Double Ugly' after the F-4 Phantom II after I took it to an autocross and realized, it likes straight lines and high speed sweepers much better than tight twisties.
I am leaving Apex NC early thursday morning, stopping at Cracker Barrell in Hickory for breakfast about 7.30am, anyone going my way want to convoy?
See ya next Thursday though....
I hope to arrive at the lodge by 6pm so if you and the others can wait.. I'll join ya all for dinner at the Wildwood Grill say about 7pm
I have a few contacts that should already be at the lodge with Verizon mobile service which usually works.
I will call when I'm getting close to let you all know my ETA
Travel safely, Gary
Weird, Mine loves the twisties.
Check out post #94 .
Franc's Off Road Adventure....!
Right now it looks like 21 cars and 32 people
Our hosts may need a bigger deck!

Correct. the "Chateau" is on the side of the mountain. virtually no parking there.
But, our host Jim, has about two flat acres of grass at the bottom,,, and a shuttle bus.

As reported on FB and elsewhere, it seems that we will be sharing the roads and Fontana Village with the Hyundai Genesis enthusiasts. I wonder how many of them will show up, but right now, the weather forecast looks good, so there should be lots of fleas on the Dragon's tail...
OK, I have to ask:
how many of those attending have pulled out the rotary or orbital buffer and blew a perfectly good Saturday?
Now: on to the interior!

Yes, I mean to inspire everyone I can....since the youngest car there will be at least 7 years old, let's make the "Gen-X" crew feel bad.

FRANC'S OFF ROAD ADVENTURE
As of now we are sporting 25 cars and about 35 people.
That's about 400 to 500 feet of non stop Crossfires on a mountain road.

Keep in mind, they are ALWAYS there when we are - both in the spring and fall. I will be riding with one of them on their Saturday "midnight run" - which happens at 9pm (NO WAY will I drive like that, at night, on the Dragon!)
Here is Robert trying to keep up with Gus...
