For us, the Fall ToD GTG is the preferred event we'll attend now that the wife is retired & no longer has the conflict of working these event weekends. We probably will continue to skip the Spring event as we attend a ToD weekend with the VW Beetles during May.

Just a Friendly reminder to all that may be sitting on the fence about coming to the meet ,you got just a couple weeks until Aug 1 dead line on the rooms , Fontana seem to work with us a little after the dead line( IF THEY HAVE ROOM LEFT ) but why put it off to the last min. GET YOUR ROOMS NOW AND DON"T MISS OUT ON THE PARTY , fall the best time to be at Fontana and running the back roads , That right, we run all day and party all night ,no not really on all night thing ,LOL, BUT WE DO HAVE FUN ! so get your room ! Ok back to your regular program, Thank You LOL

Depending on your route, we could offer to meet you along the way. We live in Upstate SC and if you're planning on taking I-26 up to I-40 & then over to Fontana Dam area, we could meet you at the NC Welcome Center on I-26. Just let folks know how you plan to travel & there will be other attendees that will "convoy" with you. Looking forward to meeting you & your car!

dedwards. I live in Myrtle Beach...this is the route that I take each year...I usually get in the Columbia area and take I-26 upwards.. getting in the Columbia area around 2PM...... takes me around 5 to 6hrs..let me know where we all could meet Thursday afternoon...Carl

First timers make the event what it is.

 

Looks like the three of you could meet somewhere around Columbia on your way up. Just coordinate your travel plans to make that happen.

Then as you enter NC on I-26 West, I could meet the three of you at the Welcome Center. Just let me know your plans & get back to me via a PM or a post in this thread. It's about a 2 hr & 15 min drive from the Welcome Center to Fontana Lodge. (Note: I don't do Facebook, so won't be able to follow your plans via that social network tool.)

It would be great if you all could coordinate on Facebook - we are coming up from FL up 95 to 26 and over on 40 as well .... would love to pick up cars along the way on route ....

 

Some of us are not comfortable with the data-mining that Facebook and Google do together on our hard drives.
Even my corporate IT department's protective software is not completely effective in stopping it.
