Just like to give heads up to the guys that may be coming down 75 into Kentucky , south of Lexington, there is a lot of road work being done ,it will be that way until Lake City Tn. this can cause big slow downs on 75 , Just keep Alternate Routes in mind going south , and don't get lost or , well I will let the picture tell the story LOL !!!!

Yes you may put us on your list , after talking to my better half who was going to surprise me with the news that she had made reservations, that you surprise me with , ( may she have mercy on your soul Mark , LOL ) put us down for Thursday-Monday Susan and Ray from Lexington Ky . , We look forward to catching up with our old friends ,

Just for reference, there were several mudslides this past weekend on Hwy 19/74 in Nantahala Gorge area. Highway was blocked since Sunday and DOT work crews, working around the clock, just cleared roadway late yesterday. Area received 3.5" of rain on Saturday, which triggered the mudslides. Highway is open but still considerable work ongoing to stabilize Right of Ways where needed.
Crossfire ToD event is still 5-6 weeks away, but thought it might be worth mentioning as the area could still have some instability along Right of Ways for some of the roadways. Especially with more rain between now & the weekend event.

Yea, that was mentioned SOMEWHERE on Facebook.
I will be in the area on Tuesday to do some "Snake" homework and get things set up for the Dragon, I'll have driven thru there to assess the conditions, easily, by Thursday.

87 cars now. I know of two that may not make it, but one guy on Facebook is talking about taking the one lady's room.
With a record of 84 cars, we may exceed the record; it's iffy, cause we always have a few that dont make it due to "life" happening (like when I landed in a cardiac care unit two days before).
Just this week, I discovered one attendee who reserved a room but didn't ask for our rate - so I had no idea they were coming. With Facebook, there is no telling who is coming that we don't know about.

Dennis has to cancel on this falls' Dragon. If you want to go, the lodge is booked, post in this thread or PM me here and I'll get you moved into his room.

Glad to have you, just know that we are not at the lodge on any day for very long. We will probably go to breakfast at the Gap about 8-9am and leave on our runs from the Gap by 10am.
Many will go home that day and not return, those who will go back to the lodge will arrive back around 3-530pm.
I will add you to the list when I'm home from work.

Thank you. We were at the GTG last year and understand the timing issiue. We are only a short drive from the Lodge and will be there Thursday PM to get reacquainted with our group.

We are working on a last-minute change of plans. Many have offered to put together a Saturday evening "cookout on the grille" meal for all attendees; we did this almost nine years ago and it was enjoyed by all.
Problem is, we cant find a loaner or rental grill (charcoal or gas or whatever); since you live in the area perhaps you know of somewhere or someone we could rent one from?

as of right now I may NOT make it to the dragon this year ,, my son my daughter and my house are in the path of this storm. even though my daughter and family are here in Georgia,, we are going south when the storm has passed .
i live in south fl,,my daughter in Melbourne ,,and my son in the north middle of Fl. so my gray V8 may not make it to the dragon,, but is still for sale...
