If you suddenly make up your mind to attend, this is the first time this has happened in the fall - rooms are still available.

I called today, the lodge has eight rooms open, none in the lodge but some rooms in other building are still available. They are CLOSE to fully booked, but not quite full yet.

 

This is good news on two fronts:

1) There are still rooms available for those possibly considering to attend our event last minute.
2) The lodge is nearly fully booked, which confirms overall return to some level of normalcy for Fontana Lodge & the surrounding community.

Just booked my room. Lady says they have about 4 -5 more rooms available. See ya all there.

 

Don't forget to bring a power strip with you as plugs are scarce in the rooms to charge your phones, radios, cameras and such.

THEN, remember that we've had fall Dragons with temperatures near 90F and some down in the 40's in the morning. Pack well!

Look like the fall colors may be ahead of schedule this year , by what there saying and forecasting , I know the colors are changing here in Kentucky on some the trees , not only will it be a great weather weekend but it look be color full weekend to and that may bring out the leaf lookers and roads my be little more busy , but hay ! can't have it all , LOOKS TO BE A GREAT WEEKEND OF FUN ,

Predictions here locally say fall colors will start to peak starting the last week of SEP and will be over the following week. Colors are predicted to be vibrant, but the overall season will be short due to much hotter weather than normal here during JUL & AUG. With that perspective, you are probably correct in saying the folks that want to see the fall coloration in the mountains will be in the area when our group is visiting. So XFire attendees be careful & alert driving the roadways!

Susan just talk with one of girls that used to work at Fontana she lives in Robbinsville NC ,the colors are far from peak at the lodge, she did say maybe up on the Skyway they may be changing , but so far nothing that ahead of the game as far the season goes .
