Chimney Rock is about an hour away using the back roads. Anyone recommend going there? James

I went there while on a business trip to the area back in about 2017. I strongly suggest it!

 

I believe Chimney Rock is already incorporated in at least one of the runs.

Have any of the official routes been posted yet?

 

We likely will not post any of the routes until the event itself. There will be sheets with QR codes to pull up google maps of the routes, and the sheets will also have a brief description of the route, and approximate length. We will have some fairly short routes, and at least one all day route.

 

Event keeps growing! If we are counting correctly, we have 68 Crossfires and 114 people signed up, as of today!

 

I led a group of Crossfires during the last Fontana Lodge Fall GTG over to Chimney Rock. After spending time there, we parked below the Burntshirt Vineyard Bistro in Chimney Rock & had lunch. From there we drove the BRP east, probably passed thru 10+ tunnels & then had a photo shoot at the Richard Balsam Overlook, which is the highest point on the BRP Motor Road at 6053 feet. I highly recommend any and/or all of these. A couple of good beer breweries in Chimney Rock if wine isn't a favorite beverage.

With the large attendance for this event we are seeking more individuals attending to be a "route leader"
Please post in this thread if you are willing to lead a group on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Great news on the Biltmore Estate Tour! We have enough people to qualify for the discount! There's still room, though, so if you think you would like to attend this, we can certainly add you. We will need to close this group at some point, but we will leave the list open as long as possible. When we do close it, we will provide final pricing and payment info.

 

I will be glad to be an assistant route leader. Or tail end Charlie. Depending on the route I might feel more comfortable about leading a route. Note, this is my first rally.

Well with that many cars are we going to be able to park on the top deck? Yes, I counted space for about 65 cars on the top part.

Just curious, is anybody bringing their DRB III emulator? I would like some help in diagnosing my top.

 

Unfortunately, we cannot attend. We have canceled our reservation at the hotel.

 

I will have my DRBIII Emulator Computer Scanner with me.

 

Have you looked to transfer your room to another attendee? We have people wanting rooms!
