Chrysler should talk to it's customers
You always hear that car companies want to be "one" with the customer. I thought that Chrysler would really be interested in what a new customer had on his mind. I sent an e-mail to Chrysler on my love of the Crossfire and their need to promote it as an exceptional automobile. Three weeks and not even a recognition from Chrysler that they read it. Well maybe someone out there can get this message across.
Good morning. I have just purchased about 6 weeks ago, an Alabaster White roadster. Last week I put it in a car show just to see what the reaction was. The majority of people who looked at the car, had NO idea what it was. This proves that Chrysler has not done a good job getting the message of the Crossfire out. That is why there are so many 2005 leftovers, and there is no such thing as a 2006 here in Jacksonville Florida. I traded in a Corvette, because i was sick and tired of having a garage queen, and wanted to get back to the old saying..."there is no feel... like the feel behind the wheel". The Crossfire is an exceptional car. I had a choice of the Crossfire-350Z and Z4 and chose the Crossfire for it's design and the Mercedes heritage under the skin. It is a tight piece of machinery, that has the metal to call itself a true sports car. I drive it everyday. And since I live in Florida, the top is always down...We don't get much rain anymore.
Spend some money...Get the word out...get people behind the wheel of this lean mean driving machine. I'd go on TV to tell the praises of this fantastic car. In today's very competitive car market, you have to give people a reason to look. Mercedes has a heritage that everyone who owns a car understands. This is the catch that should be used in advertising and selling this car. As it was originally stated "route 66 meets the Autobahn." The ads should stress the melting of two powers into one magnificent example of what can be accomplished when the engineering of Mercedes and the design of Chrysler give birth to a unique form of transportation. And don't stress the SRT-6. It not meant for the masses. It's in the price range of a new corvette. Stress the Limited and maybe sneak in the base model. You have a winner that can stand with the pack. It's your job to make the masses understand what you have and desire it as much as the owners that now have one.
That would be a good commercial. Two giant pot of hot metal...one with the Chrysler emblem and one with the Mercedes emblem. In the middle of a dark hot steel factory environment. When the two hot liquids meet they begin to form the shape of the Crossfire. "From the design imagination of Chrysler and the engineering expertise of Mercedes...Crossfire"..."Feel the Heat!"
Some automobiles create a passion. I believe that the Crossfire is one of those automobiles.

I can't agree with you more! I've had my Crossfire Roadster for two weeks now. Most people stare at me when i drive and ask what it is...I've seen a whopping total of 3 other Crossfires on the road in the Seattle are. One was a roadster and two were coupes.
On the one hand, I would love to see this car marketed better by DC. On the other, it's fun having a unique car that draws a lot of attention. Of the Crossfires that I've seen, all of them have been black.

But isn't it nice to have a car that you don't see on every corner??
Besides the vehicle being ABSOLUTELY amazing in every way. Even more enjoyment in driving is being "special", NOT "typical"! Let's keep the publicity quiet & let those who are smart enough to do the research (as we did) enjoy the car & leave everyone else wondering & putting time into checking it out for themselves!

Yes, I totally agree! I love it when heads turn and people shout..Who makes that car? I just smile and let them keep gawking. When I do answer their questions, they are always amazed at the styling and design and when I tell them it's a Mercedes built car they are quite impressed.
I really don't understand why Chrysler dropped the ball on this car. The first comment I usually get is the Apprentice connection with the "Donald".
I can't be happier with my decision and the fact that it's unique and a head-turner, well, that's all the better!!! My thanks to "The Donald" for giving America a chance to at least be introduced to this amazing car!

TRUE, SO TRUE with all you said!
Forgot to mention....even better yet! I replaced my "chrysler" emblems with new ones from Dan Root...gorgeous. So now people are even more confused one "what" & "who"...great, just great! Makes me smile every time I see those eyebrows move in confusion!!

I saw your emblems. They look great! I am thinking of the illuminated door sills. Don't you think they would look fantastic with the Aeroblue color!? I love your choice of color, by the way. It's truly the prettiest, IMO.
I might do the emblem, as well. I had seen the coupe design, but not the roadster. Nice...
I am heading out to wash my new baby! I just love it.
I decided on my personalized plates. I have been asked by those that are stuck in soccer-mom car-pool hell" why I would drive such a small, no room for storage, car and this is my "pat" answer:
"JUSTBCUZ"
Second choice:
"BCUZICN"
GG

Love the first choice..."JUSTBCUZ" All those "soccer mom, car pool" people are just jealous! I get the same stupid comments too...jealously is a *****! But, I do have the "mommy" car too. Have to be "practical" some of the time...unfortunately.
As far as sills, I agree they would look great on this color. Been thinking about it too...I'm sure in the near future!
If you are interested in the emblems...Dan Root is the guy! Real easy to install and a great guy to deal with! If you notice under the roadster, he even put "SRT6" there. Great job!

I found the door sills for about $360.00. I have a husband who, shall I say politely, is mechanically challenged. He most definitely, wouldn't know how to install them. I wish I had some Crossfire buddies in my area that I could pick their brain.
Have you done the radio mod? I have not.
I bought my car used (9,000 miles) and Andrew sold me his luggage that was brand new in "original" box. I'm waiting very impatiently for it to arrive.
You know what I find amazing? All the Chrysler commercials I see show all the Chrysler cars EXCEPT the Crossfire... I wonder why? Possibly because they are not making them in 2006?
Either way, I also like the fact that there are so few of our cars on the road - if we had what everyone else had, then wouldn't that make us part of the norm? And I am so not the norm - I like being different and unique and that is what this car is.
Even with problems, I love my car...

Don't get mad at me cause I don't need a kid hauler. lol Alot of people don't buy the car because they don't feel it's practical for everyday use but since I've moved to FL (no more snow)... I'm going to drive it til the wheels fall off!
