Default splash guard

Has anyone found a good fitting stylish splash guard for the Crossfire? It sure would save me a lot of cleaning around the rocker panels everytime i take the "DragonFire" out. Just curious. Thanks.

Is anybody out there??? Even a "NO" answer would be appreciated. I can't seem to find a set for the "DragonFire" anywhere. I tell you this, if possible, take a look at the fender well surround that exist on the new Corvette Z06. If someone could design a similar unit for the crossfire, I am sure that it would sell like hotcakes. It is the best fender well protection I have ever seen on any vehicle anywhere.

It was talked about here about a year or so ago, no one at the time could find any aftermarket splash guards much less anything of OEM quality. A guy from Phoenix posted some pics of the cheap looking ones he made from some sheet metal material for his wife's yellow roadster. He did not paint them and they looked like crap. It really cheapened that car.

I did a search for "mudflaps", but the link to the post I think showed them was dead. A lot of posts and pictures were lost here when the site owner changed the board format a couple of years ago.

Good luck in your search.

DragonFire, I have an alabaster XF and I know exactly what you're talking about, can't drive 2 miles down the road without something splashing up on the rocker panel and looking like the car wasn't even washed. I won't even go into the stone chip problem.
I have resisted putting black vinyl mud flaps on it simply because I hate the way they look on my Hondas. but I have to admit, they do protect the paint if you hang them low enough. Plus, if you're real careful about hanging them so that they line up with the tires (and not beyond the tread) they are almost invisible from behind.
I think Andrew applies a clear plastic adhesive cover over his rockers, and that should at least protect it from the chipping effect.
Another thing that's nice about the vinyl mud flaps, is that you can trim them down to make them less noticeable.
Remember, just don't buy the ones with the reflectors on them.

~ not something you would ever see on my car either... but many others have asked about them.

i run clear film (3M) on my complete rocker panels for added protection.

i agree with the whole mud flap thing. the only ones i would ever consider would be ones made by DC specifically for the xf. since they don't make these i guess we're out of luck. the ones on ebay are universal fit i believe and they look like !@#$ on it. does benz make some for the slk??? if so would they fit on ours?

I was looking at a new Z06 at the NAIAS in Detroit a few weeks ago and it has a nice integrated splash guard designed into the car... not an add on. If anyone gets a chance to look at one make sure you take note. I bet something similar could be added to the XFire fairly easy.

I think that looks pretty good. Might be worth a try to fabricate something like that.

~ ot ... did you happen to see how beat up the driver's side seat bolster was... literally a hole in it... with the metal framing exposed.

i realize a ton of people are in & out of this car but... with 20 miles on the Z06... and that quick of a break down.

Yeah, too bad on the hole in the seat. I was not willing to wait for the drivers side so I just jumped into the passenger seat. I think it was the longest line at the show. Lets face it, anything Porsche builds that's close in performance they are not about to let white trash sit in! But I must admit, the build quality of the XFire is very high.
