One of the lucky ones
Well, I finally had to find out if my stealership was one of the good ones or bad ones concerning service. The Crossfire developed the transmission leak that many have experienced. Called the dealer, they got it in the next day, gave us a Magnum to drive for the day. Called me that afternoon, and told me it was the O-ring TSB, fixed that and also took care of the cooling fan recall that I didn't know about. Didn't screw up the car. Fixed it right the first time (so far anyway). Now I feel better knowing that my dealer has a couple of certified Crossfire techs and that they apparently won't screw me around. I have dealt with this dealer for many years and have been pretty satisfied with the service department, but reading some of the horror stories on this forum had me worried.
Ask the service manager or service writer. He should know. In my case, the dealers' salesman told me the shop had a certified xf tech on board, then the next week I found out that he quit a month ago! Nobody else could even program the panic button on the key fob. Hence my upcoming trip to Columbus, GA for a short list of stuff.
