Default Roadster roof problem

Hi All,

Wonder if anybody has had this problem before, and what I need to do to sort it out.

As I was opening the roof, one of the two flaps on the boot stayed retracted under the boot and bent the bracket on the folded roof in the boot space.

Now when I open and close the roof, the flap on the otherside retracts underneath the boot as it is closing.

Its as if the car thinks that the roof is up when its actually down, could it be a faulty sensor?

Any help would be apreciated and where I could source these brackets from.

Thanks

I would think a trip to the dealer or a top repair shop is in order.

Is it still under warranty? Let them handle it.

Its a 2004 Crossfire, hence no manufacturers warranty. I do have extended warranty been trying to find my documents to see whats covered as I don't think its a standard Chrysler warranty.

Rung 3 dealers they want between £70 - £100 just to take a look (some sort of standard diagnostics rate).

A few questions :-

1.) Can anybody recommend a good dealer or specialist roofing company here in the UK, West Yorkshire area?

2.) I do have a service manual but it does not cover the roadster roof, does anybody have a schematic or service/ diagnostic book for the roof?

3.) Any local breakers got a crossfire roadster in that I could pinch the parts from?

I'm really upset as the sun is shining here in the UK, its a rare event!!!

If you have an extended warranty, the top should be covered. Also you said it was an 04. I did not think they made roadsters in 04. This might be because you are in the UK. If you need a new top and have to pay for it yourself there is one listed on Ebay. Good luck.

Randy I believe in Europe if a car is built in 2004 they consider it a 2004 though in the US the same car might have a vin # of a 2005.

Thanks to everybody who helped me.

I've had it confirmed that the roof is indeed covered under my extended warranty. Car goes in next week.
